It was good. The kids were thrilled with their gifts. We stayed in our pjs all day unwrapping, munching, watching movies, and hanging out. Very low key. In many ways it was just a blip in the week since I worked most of Weds and then Thurs/Fri the kids were in camp while L and I had to go to work.

E really enjoyed her gifts and it was fun to see her excitement over the guitar she got from Santa and the clothes and other fun things she got.
Between work, E's sleep issues and prep for the holiday, I'm pretty burned out. I'm taking today to run some errands and spend some time alone. I need to find my center again.
It was pretty mixed. On the plus side, we had a lovely family day, the kids really enjoyed all of their presents, and for the first time our families respected our request that they send ONE gift per kid rather than 3-4. Nobody was overwhelmed, nobody had a tantrum, it was fantastic. On the very sad side, my dad's younger brother passed away on the 23rd after a long battle with cancer, so a lot of our conversations with eextended family revolved around his passing and travel arrangements for the funeral.
