I got a gc to Bass Pro Shop for new finger pulls and a new re curve bow. Sold out! Talking to the guy people keep coming in thanks to Catching Fire and Hobbit for bows. Even online the bow I want is back ordered for a right eye 35lb pull for over a month. I am pouting like crazy. My old bow only has a 20Lb pull and I need a high pull. They were even sold out of finger pulls. My instructor is crazy booked up with Crazed Fans who want to be awesome impossible archer.
Lol I've been an archer for a while now. I've got a recurve and it pisses me off to no end when I go in to get gear for it and I hear, "oh, are you a Hunger Games fan?"
I am (lol), but it's irrelevant.
Side note: I just got out of seeing Catching Fire for the second time. Being a KY girl, I have to love the cast. Josh Hutcherson was actually at the UK game yesterday. Go Cats! /derail
I don't mind Causal people, we have a ton, I would still count me as a causal since I don't do any of the shooting in Tournaments. I even have my starting bow still. I just really wanted a new bow to see what i could do. /sadness /flex Damn these arm work outs. I am hateing on the crazed fans who think they are going to come in and be awesome and don't follow rules. For the next month the range will be crazy busy, people will not take care of the equipment, then get bored and the market will be flooded with used bows, arrows, and random parts. I do like this part. We have to be super vigilant about people shooting into every thing, and I hate people who buy those Katniss style quivers. I had a girl who almost smacked me every time she pulled an arrow from that thing, and her arrows were way to long for her. People can rent bows, they should find out what eye dominant you are, how much pull you need before you buy. One of my training classes had this tiny girl with left eye bow with 50 lb pull. She couldn't even shot because it was to hard to do it. She needed a 20 lb pull, and was right eye dominant.
You guys can tease me all you want about being stuck up, but its just crazy what people come up with to do. And people think because its just bow and arrow its not dangerous.
I will admit the guy who showed up in a full high elf outfit with toy bow and arrow was funny as hell. I liked him, even if his robes did get in the way some.

Oh no, I really don't think you're stuck up! It was just a tongue in cheek sort of thing it's totally understandable, just like how it's so annoying to go to the gym in January. Everyone has the same right to be there but it's almost impossible not to be annoyed by the crowds and the occasional cluelessness

I am totally stuck up! Not really, its just so frustrating waiting a couple of months when you only get so many hours sans kids to shot, and its filled up with people who don't care about rules cause they are the next Katniss shooting ace. Plus I could use all the practice I can get. When the zombies come, I would like to be making mostly headshots! I think I going to wait till April or May then cruise craigslist for a new bow. Take a nice bow off someones hands who did not find archery as relaxing as I do. For a fraction of what they paid for it *que evil laugh Until then, I have this bead making class I been wanting to try, think the hard core beaders let me in the kool kids club? Or will there be a post on some forum about a crazy beading ninja?
