Training is uneventful thus far, so no problems or vents. I hit my marathon pace run even with this stupid cough I can't kick.

Boston (4/21)
Plan is to workout for an hour 5-6 times this upcoming week. My "long run" needs to be at least 7 miles. I'm also running a NY's 5k tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.
Just plugging along, and getting back at it. Ran 24 miles, spent a total of 2 hrs on the elliptical, and took 1 spin class this past week.
What are you training for? Date? Training for a 50k (trail) in March
Schedule for the week? I think it's: Wed: 7 mile tempo; Thurs: easy 6; Fri: Easy 8; Sat: 18; Sunday: easy 6
Any injuries or vents? My right hip/glute has been hurting me lately and I couldn't finish my long run last weekend. I have already been to the PT before for it and so I know how to fix it but for some reason I can't seem to duplicate the exercise/move at home. Now I have to go to my PCP to get another PT referral. Ugh I just want it fixed NOW!
Highlights to share from last week? Not really last week but I enjoyed speed workout yesterday with my hubby. We never run together (I normally run at 5am) but since we're off this week we went out later in the am and he was able to push me to go faster. Also, another highlight from yesterday's run was when I yelled at DH to turn around (he doesn't have a Garmin) this older man walking a dog thought I was saying hi to him and he's like "good morning...you have a nice stride". Me laughing: "good morning, thanks."

Vents: I was kind of annoyed about rearranging my schedule, but I can't complain too much
Highlights: I kind of dominated my 22 miler, I'm now tapering, and I seem to have found eyeliner and mascara that can survive a long run (at least when temps are cooler). It's a win-win-win.
(Maybelline gel liner and Benefit's They're Real, for anyone else who cares about these things. I went on a Sephira/Target spree this weekend.)

Any injuries or vents? left knee is a bit sore - twisted it running on ice a couple weeks ago, low back has been tight, and I learned that hot sauce on eggs a couple hours before I run is a huge no-no - terrible heartburn, lol.
Highlights to share from last week? nope, happy to be healthy and that running continues to be part of my life that at most times is enjoyable:)
Right now, nothing big. April or May 1/2 long term. Just attempting to keep up some mileage during this awful winter.

the weather - I know I live in a cold state, but seriously it's ridiculous this year. I can count on one hand when it's been decent enough to run outside and I will put up with a lot. Just commuting each day has been treacherous and dangerous.

Ugh, I twisted/tweaked my knee last night while jumping around and doing lunges to a JM DVD. I'm so annoyed! It hurt at first, then the pain went away. I continued modified versions of the exercises and felt find. Then I planned to run about 3 miles on the treadmill and my knee kinda caved around mile 1.5 and I walked the rest of the way.
It's pretty tender today. Doesn't hurt persay, just sore and hurts to walk upstairs. I had planned to do a 10 miler tomorrow to ring in the new year but now I don't think I'll be able to. I'm VERY pouty today because of my knee.

I'm training for a first on the first tomorrow. And also I signed up today for a "quarter marathon" (6.55 miles) in early May since the price goes up tomorrow.
My vent is that I got sick over the weekend with a head cold and sinus thing, so I haven't been able to run this week and I'm not sure I'm going to actually be able to run tomorrow. It also threw off my mileage for the month and I didn't hit my goal. But I still beat last month's mileage and still plan on going tomorrow even if I walk the whole thing, so that's something, right?
