Warhammer 40k?

I know very little about it. But a friend loves the books based on this world, and he loaned me one of his favorites last night. (Actually, a compilation: Eisenhorn, by Dan Abnett; it's like 3 novels and 2 short stories.) Things were slow at work last night because we were in the middle of a blizzard, so I started reading it and now I'm totally sucked in. 

Anybody else a fan?

I use to play, and paint army. I had a dark eldar army, and the one I most proud of painting was my gay pride space marines. My Ex asked me to paint his entire army, and gave me free reign and thats what I did. We ended up selling all our parts and made a pretty good penny. I haven't seen or read any of the books, besides player books. Its been 10 years or more since I played.

Do you have pictures of your gay pride space marines? Because that sounds totally awesome.

I wish, I would like to get back into painting, but the cost, and I really have so much going on. I was super proud of them, I did a gunmetal base and was very light with out being flaming. I spent so much time getting down to the straps on the boots just perfect.
I did win a few local painting competitions with them.
