We have no cable/internet/phone at home. Why? Because when they disconnected our next door neighbor yesterday they disconnected us too! The kicker is that when I called, they wanted me to wait 2 full days for them to come back and fix it. 4 phone calls later I "might" have it back today. I am waiting for the supervisor to call me back. I hope this one is better than the one I had last night who was ZERO help...and I told her she was no help at all.
I totally understand being with out service due to power outages and such, but when it is due to a workers incompetence, it should be resolved immediately...not put me in a queue and make me wait. I feel this is an extension of yesterdays service call made to the neighbors and should be completed before moving on to the next call!
Cable companies are the WORST! And they are all that bad - Comcast, Time Warner - we have yet to have a reasonable amount of customer service from any. Comcast once did the same thing to our neighbors, when our cable was being "fixed", they shuth theirs off. This was following an incident where we were told Comcast would be to our house between 8-10am to fix our cable. When they hadn't shown up at 7pm the customer service rep finally told us that every rep we spoke to all day knew the tech wasn't coming to our house, but "no one wanted to be the one to tell" us... so they wasted an entire day of ours. It was wild!
I've dealt with 3 different cable companies so far and had issues with the customer service in all of them (Charter, Comcast, and Uverse). It's amazing that the common trait among all of them is poor customer service. I understand that their hands are probably tied with a lot of things (them being the people we get to speak to), but a lot of times they're just rude. With UVerse my bill is different pretty much every month so I'm on the phone with them every month getting things fixed.
You should definitely get a credit for the days without service and it would be nice to get some sort of compensation for the inconvenience, like a couple of free movies, HBO for a few months, etc.
Time Warner has accidently given me free HBO, and I live in fear for the day they figure it out. I practically made H watch the whole season of Girls in one night.
