I'm also doing the 30 day shred DVD as a challenge with some friends. I needed a kick start into cross training, and I'm using it for that.
No AWs, just grumps. I'm PMSing like crazy (first real one since my kiddo was born two years ago), and want to eat absolutely everything. Get it together, Mush!

What are you training for? Date? Blacksburg Classic 5k 2/15, Ukrops 10k 3/29, Leveling up to Jupiter (aka, increasing my cred in the Half Fanatics by doing a backtoback) 4/26-7
Schedule for the week? M-5k, Tu-5k and core, W-4mi lifting core, Th-3mi hills and core, F-60min trainer ride, Sa-6mi, Su-lifting, core, hot yoga
Injuries, issues, or vents? I took all of December off after the marathon due to some pretty gnarly tendinitis, and now I feel like a sloth.
Highlights or AW's from the last week? I cleaned my house too! Clean procrastinators unite! (Oh, and I also signed up for my first triathlon, holy crap hold me)

Right now I'm still just winging it. I'm trying to get in about 20 mile weeks for the next few and then get on a schedule. I'm always hesitant about too strict a schedule because I know I need flexibility for things to work. However, I had no set training plan for last marathon, so I'm thinking I'll try to find a happy medium.
Injuries, issues, or vents? Nope, feeling good. Other than the FRIGID WEATHER. Can't wait for 25 - 30 degrees this weekend. Maybe I can finally do my first run all year that's not on the treadmill!
Highlights or AW's from the last week? I'm working more & more with my HR monitor and making some progress. Did 4 miles & kept my HR 140-150 while still running at a semi-decent pace. [/quote]
Monday: 4 mile run with 3 miles at gmp, strength training (30 minutes) Tuesday: 3 miles, easy Wednesday: 8 miles with 3 x 1 miles at 10k pace, stregnth training (30 minutes) Thursday: rest, maybe yoga or foam roll Friday: 18 miles Saturday: 9 miles with 6 miles at gmp Sunday: tennis match

Not really, last week was fine but this week I will run over 40 miles and that will be a first for me.
Oh I ran a 5k I guess. Ha. It was my slowest by far, so the AW is that I ran a 5k in -10 temps and snow/ice.
(high5) This is deserving of some applause! I can't wrap my head around running in those kind of temps. I was proud of myself for walking from my car into the grocery yesterday in 0 degree temps, lol.

Haha no I'm flying under the radar with it for now IronGirl Columbia, MD on August 17th. It's rated one of the best sprint tris in the country, and a good friend did it last year and is still raving about it (and doing it again this year too)

Thank you! I've never been happier for a race to be over. It was not my cup o' tea! Honestly, it wasn't the temps as much as it was the running surfaces. Half the route was on snow, which ended up more like slippery sand after people ran on it.
