How to best to use white eyeliner?

I recently bought white eyeliner in my attempts to make my small, close-set eyes stand out more. Yesterday I tried it in the inner corner of my eyes, and before I took all my makeup off I lined my lower waterline, which looked bad.

What is the most effective way to use white eyeliner without it looking cheezy? I got the Rimmel white pencil--I am not sure how much I can really smudge it.

Ideas?

I use it exactly like you did. Maybe you just weren't used to how it looks? I'll be curious to see how others use it as well.

I actually use it mostly on the inner corner of my eye, just a smudge around the top and bottom, and a blended dot just inside my eye/beside my nose. That helps on days when I'm looking tired.
If I do my waterline, it's usually only with going out makeup or if I need almost a "stage makeup" look - pictures, performances, etc. I find it too dramatic for day/work.

I actually use a champagne-colored pencil to make my eyes look brighter. White is too obvious/dramatic for daily wear, IMO.

I don't care for white. I also use a champagne pencil or just shadow to brighten.
