Hi everyone my half isn't till Sept 02 but after this week I will have completed my 10k training. How soon do I need to start training for the half? I plan on taking a few weeks and just relax and just do easy runs or is that a bad idea?
i would suggest following a plan, especially if this is your first one. most are 10-12 weeks. you should have a base though and not take off from running completely though when you start.
Coming from the city with the "Nation's Largest Half-Marathon" race, our training series had a 10k in early March for our early May half-marathon, if that helps give you timing reference.
Check to see if there are training programs you can sign up with locally, if you're interested.

There are many training plan available on-line, but I have always had trouble sticking to them. I was most successful training with a group that had a plan.
