So my sister (who is a bit on the outgoing, silly, sarcastic, have a good time side) posted a picture of some wildflowers her boyfriend had picked for her.
She posted the pic with captions "BF picked me these on his way home today. Sorry, ladies he's all mine! Best guy ever!"
Anyone who knows her, knows she loved the flowers but the caption was meant to be stupid fun.
One of our mutual best friends (who has developed a whole odd set of issues) responds with:
"No I have the best husband ever! He took his cigarette outside tonight so I could have some me time. He told me my tater tot hotdish was the best ever and he even remembered to shower after work!"
Klassy!
So my sister who was all WTH types back, "Well I guess there a lot of good guys out there then!"
Friend types back a followup tirade listing why her husband was so great while simultaneously making it sound white trash and that her H was really the best.
LOL. Jealous and defensive much over something that was supposed to in fun?
I wish I could say friend meant hers as fun too...but I know her and I know her husband...she was serious.
OMG those are some pretty poor reasons that your friends' husband is the best. What would make her to comment like that on a silly FB post much less brag about stuff like that in front of everyone?

I'm just ... wow. Where can I sign up for a man who occasionally goes outside to smoke, sometimes remembers to shower, and compliments me on (correct me if I'm wrong) a casserole made mostly out of pre-prepared foods? I must meet this specimen of awesome manliness.

LOL girls! Your responses made my giggle non stop. Yeah it's just odd.
Friend has issues. Her husband is an okay guy personality wise..just not the most upstanding ambitious citizen.
Without sounding like a complete b*tch but for the sake of keeping this short, the rest of us are married or dating "up" and I think she's realizing it. So anytime anybody makes a harmless husband joke or hands out a husband compliment she gets all weirdly defensive.
I mean I don't have the most perfect GQ husband either...but at least he remembers to shower!
Oh man, I had a fb disaster today too! A harmless but not terribly bright friend started a debate about welfare and UE benefits. Generally I just look away and let people rant, but people were calling him out on his poorly written "retorts" (totally acceptable) and getting really nasty about it (not acceptable). So I put in my 2 cents (which disagrees with Friend's view), and mentioned that the responders were being pretty shitty and should chill out. Dummmmb! What was I thinking?! Anyone else I would have let it be, but this dude is so sweet and stupid and harmless, I just felt so bad!
