Since @legalbritt asked, I figured I'd AW our recent trip . I'll add pics once I'm home. We were in SoCal for my college roommate's wedding and spent 2 days at Disneyland while there. It was crazy expensive and I wouldn't have taken G this young had we not been with my college friends who really wanted to do Disney. But we had a blast and DH is already talking about next time . There were a lot of rides G couldn't do since she's just under 32" -- I think we'll maybe go back when this next baby is over 32". That's when they can accompany adults on the less scary rides. 40" is the big milestone to ride most rides. We did a lot of switching off and taking turns going on rides. There were still a bunch she could go on and she absolutely loved It's a Small World and the Little Mermaid ride. Surprisingly, she loved meeting Minnie mouse and Pluto -- I thought she'd be scared but she wasn't. Toon Town was her favorite section of the parks and she loved the one show we went to. One downside was that every night the fireworks woke her up at 9:30pm. She was scared the first night but after DH showed her the colors/lights, she disliked them but was no longer scared. All in all a great vacation for us and especially nice to get some sun.

Thanks for sharing. We plan to take bkb for her fifth birthday. Really helpful to know about 40 inches. Although bkb will probably be that tall by the time she's three.

I think for a lot of taller kids (I was always tall), the hard part is figuring out what rides they would enjoy, regardless of if they pass height restrictions. I think the cars land ride would be a lot of fun for most kids, even if it's slightly roller coaster-ish at the very end but space mountain would be pretty scary even if she were technically tall enough. We avoided Pirates of the Caribbean since we didn't know how G would do with the drops, even though she probably would've enjoyed the rest of the ride. We also skipped Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and the Haunted Mansion even though they have no height restrictions.
I forgot to mention that she completely flipped out when I waved to her from the front of one of the roller coasters. She was having fun watching the cars full of people stop, then go shooting off, but was super scared for me to be in the same situation. I waved and she smiled, then everyone started screaming (bc it's a roller coaster), and she started bawling inconsolably in DH's arms, thinking something really bad was happening to her mom. DH took her to look at other things but she was so scared for me that she really didn't completely recover until maybe an hour later at dinner. I felt really bad but had no idea how scared she would be at just seeing me. I thought she would enjoy me waving to her from the ride...oops.
This seems like a great age to take her, bjl was just a bit little when we went. What rides did you go on without G? We went with bjl while pregnant and I don't think I was allowed on any rides she wasn't allowed on.
So jealous. I know my daughter would LOVE it! However she only naps in her crib and just can't see spending the time and money when we'd be in the hotel room so much. Already can't wait to go when #2 is about 5.

Ummm...lol, I guess I'm a 2nd time pregnant who's been ignoring warning labels . I went on Space Mountain, CA Screamin, Star Wars tours, Soarin over CA, Autopia, the Cars ride, and Luigi's bumper cars without her. I didn't bother asking/checking which rides they said weren't for pregnant women.

She was tired enough that she napped in her stroller both days. The first day we used rider switch passes (one parent at a time rides)while she slept and the second day we grabbed lunch that she wouldn't have liked. There were a lot of really grumpy toddlers around the park early to mid-afternoon making their families' lives miserable so if you know your child won't adapt well I think it's a really smart choice to wait. That said, mid-day is the busiest, hottest time at the parks so not a bad time to skip out for a break. Early mornings are awesome, I just wish G could stay up a little later at night. After ~8:30 she'll pretty much ask to be picked up then fall asleep on my shoulder or DH's.
Cute! I've been counting down the days until my son is either 40" tall or is 5 years old, and/or drops his naps so we can go to Disneyworld since I peed on a stick. I can't wait! I love Disneyworld.
Also, because of this post, I finally got out my Kinect Disneyland game again.
We're hoping to go back to Disney (not sure land or world) with G's cousin in a few more years. He's 3 now. DH was a total grump when I planned everything but was the one suggesting a return trip sooner rather than later . They also happen to be really good about accommodating food allergies which made it less stressful for us.

Yep, you aren't technically allowed on any of those . I'm a little jealous now of how much fun you had. When I went I just paid 90 bucks to be the babysitter.
We are going to San Diego end of March, and we are thinking about Disneyland for a day trip and I am making hub sit out all the rides with bjl

Going back for a nap wouldn't be too bad but my daughter is very impatient. How'd yours do with lines? Waiting in line for Santa was pure torture for her and me! I want to wait til I'm not pregnant to go and she can understand what she's waiting in Line for I think. Unless my brother and sister in law invite us (they have some sort of Disney club membership) we will probably wait it out.

Rider switch passes! One waits in line and then the other can use the FastPass line. I've been eating sushi too and had a small glass of wine NYE...poor second baby! I was so good when I was pregnant with G.

Mostly she did great with lines as long as we let her play with/climb on the line dividers, stand on my feet, use us as a jungle gym, swing her along when the line moved, etc. We also tried to pick lines less than half an hour as a general rule and otherwise skip rides/try for FastPasses/check back later. It didn't work to tell her we were waiting for something since she didn't seem to understand and quickly got impatient. But she was fine being in line when we provided entertainment, if that makes sense.
