On my commute home at the end of the day, I've been feeling nauseous, hungry and weak. Here's my typical menu for a work day.
Lots of water throughout the day 7am Breakfast - Cereal/oatmeal, PB & toast, coffee
Snacks - 2 hard boiled eggs, orange
11:30am Lunch - Homemade soup of some kind
Snack - Greek yogurt with mango
Snack on whatever as soon as I get home (since I'm usually starving).
5:30 - 6PM - Dinner
You would think that this would be enough food, but my stomach is telling me otherwise. I'm BF DD so I give myself permission to eat whatever as long as it's healthy. Any ideas for an additional afternoon snack that will tide me over until I get home?
When I was BFing my DS, I ate so much! I would have been super hungry if I only ate what you had listed. Almonds and string cheese are my go to snack and help hold me over. Maybe add some more fruit to your greek yogurt snack or add something alongside your lunch.
I'd suggest you eat more at lunch. That would not be enough for me, and I'm not breastfeeding. In addition to that, I like peppers & hummus as an afternoon snack, but ditto all other suggestions in this thread.
I'd eat a bigger lunch. soup only for lunch does not fill me up (unless it's something more stew like like chili). I'd add some hummus and veg or a salad or half a sandwich or something.

What kind of yogurt are you eating? If it's low-fat or fat-free, try switching to higher fat yogurt. TJs is the only place I've found plain full-fat Greek yogurt.
But I definitely recommend NUTS! I eat nuts pretty much every day. You could add them to your Greek yogurt (I'm on a kick of plain 2% or full-fat yogurt, honey, and pistachios). Or you could eat them plain. Costco sells a couple of good trail mixes and also sells giant things of almonds, walnuts, pecans, cashews, and pistachios. You could eat them plain or make seasoned nuts - I really like these cashews and these pecans.
Sliced apple with peanut butter is another favorite of mine.

I like the idea of nuts. TJs has a great collection of nuts that are cheap. I may try a half sandwich too.
What do you usually put on your sandwiches? Deli meat? Doesn't that usually have a lot of sodium?
It's so odd. I eat a lot less when I'm teleworking and never feel hungry and weak, when I commute into the city, I snack like crazy. I guess my commute takes a lot of out of me (walking to and from the metro, to and from my car)
I like the idea of nuts. TJs has a great collection of nuts that are cheap.
So I will totally cop to being a whore for Costco, but their prices are even better (and according to my sources, their pistachios are much tastier).
A couple of weeks ago, we spent a small fortune on nuts at Costco, but I love that the big containers means we will pretty much never be out. We are out of pistachios and low on cashews, but we have plenty of pecans. We're going tonight and will probably get pistachios and maybe almonds to mix it up.

I eat mindlessly when I am in the office. If I get bored or are waiting for someone to get back to me when I am at home I can throw in a load of laundry.
