Do you do them? Do you think they work? I tried one tonight after my 17, but apparently I am the worlds biggest wuss..I couldn't handle it. It also doesn't help that it was 45 degrees out when I finished my run.

Meh, I never have. But that doesn't mean they don't work. I just would rather do what I can with stretching and foam rolling rather than voluntarily submerse myself in icy water.
I don't think I could do them in the winter. It takes me hours to warm up after my long runs lately! Last summer I just jumped into our cold pool. It was fantastic. I've never added ice though, just really cold water. It helps, but I'm still not doing it in the winter.
I did them during Chicago training & once I got over the fear, I actually really enjoyed them. It was also the middle of summer. Ditto not doing them in the winter. I would run, stretch, ice bath, shower , foam roll. I could definitely feel a difference in my legs.

I think they worked for me, though I did them in the summer/early fall when it was much warmer outside. The trick I learned was to get into cold water, then pour in the ice. A hot beverage and a sweatshirt for my upper body helped, too. I can't imagine doing them in the winter, though. It's hard enough for me to warm up after being outside in the cold.
There is no way in hell I'd do one in the winter. The only time I've done an official ice bath was after my marathon, but like cinco I get in the cold pool after a long run.
I like them - I notice a difference. Lots of ice and cold water. It only stings for a minute, and I always tell myself that if I'm badass enough to train long & hard enough to warrant an ice bath, then I can handle the temp.
That said, I've never done it in the winter except for after my two winter marathons that both took place in AZ.
