I basically stopped all exercise once I started stims, so it's been 13 weeks. Since the weather has been so crappy, I haven't even done walks that much. So the other day I bought a prenatal exercise dvd (by Summer Sanders) and got ready to work out. There are two routines: complete and express. I chose express b/c I needed to ease into it. It was a series of stretching and light areobics. I was getting sore and winded, but then the instructor mercifully stopped. So I thought, ok this is manageable. Just then, the instructor came back on and said, now that you're warmed up, let's get started! I was like . She then went on with more intense routines that seemed to go on forever. So much for an express workout. I shudder to think what "complete" means. I said the heck with it and turned it off.
LOL I was just looking at that DVD yesterday. IDK what to do. I've tried to walk a bit, but haven't been great with it. I really love spinning, but I tend to go hardcore, and I haven't done it in months, so it seems like a bad idea. I was thinking of going to the gym and just doing their regular exercise bikes that don't have such extreme posture. I just need to do SOMETHING. I could easily hit 200lb with this pregnancy if I'm not really on top of things, and I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.
Most of my exercise consists of walking the dog and riding a stationary bike, both of which I can still do. I won't be able to ride my bike or go kayaking this summer which makes me really sad, as those are my favorite activities.
When I got my BFP I was running 3x/week, playing soccer and going to the gym 1-2x/week as well. After BFP, RE said nothing but walking and swimming. I walk most days, cause I have to walk the dog and I've swam a few times. I'm aiming to hit the pool more often until I can't anymore.
I wish I was one of those people that could have just continued working out throughout without worrying about it.
I tried a prenatal yoga video around 25 weeks. I was exhausted after 5 minutes but tried to keep going. When I got to downward dog (a favorite of mine) I got such horrible reflux I had to turn the video off. It didn't go away for days. It was awful.
I am an elementary school teacher and I'm basically on my feet all day, so I felt like I was pretty active the whole time.
I continued my lifting routine until 8 weeks when I started having problems with low blood pressure which was causing me to get dizzy and faint. I am just now thinking about getting back to the gym. I may just do some incline walking on the treadmill or a bike. I really need to get back though because I gained 12 lbs the last 4 weeks....I can't keep that up or I will be in trouble.

When I got my BFP I was training for an ultramarathon and had run 40 miles in 24 hours the previous weekend. I tried to continue running (though I skipped my ultra) but by 9 weeks my fatigue kept me from doing anything.
I now do brisk walking only since I feel like I've lost my conditioning by the time my energy returned (around 17 weeks), which has been quite an adjustment since I was formerly SUCH A RUNNER.

What did you do about low bp? I'm having this issue already (I have low bp naturally and had issues/fainting last summer) and will talk to the dr about it this week, but I'm curious how you handled it. I'm trying to drink my 13c of water and be sure to eat pretzels and salt where I can fit them in, and I've been mostly ok doing that, but I'm worried ti might get worse as time goes on..

I wasn't allowed to exercise during the first tri due to spotting and my history of miscarriages. I've eased back into it once I entered the 2nd tri. I've been having a lot of round ligament pain, so I've been doing a lot of swimming lately.
I didn't work out at all when I was pregnant with DD. My weight gain was fine, but getting back in shape after delivery was brutal.
I have kept going to my regular yoga classes and simply told the instructor I'm pregnant. It's great because she tells me specific modifications I can do and also generally gives me a lot of TLC during the class. I will probably switch to an exclusively prenatal yoga class when I get a little further along.
I stopped running last month because it has been too cold out, but I'm going to join the Y and use their iNdoor track. I also plan to use their pool and go to their water aerobics classes.

Mine definitely got worse before it got better. My doctor told me to stay hydrated and to keep myself safe if I fainted, which I did once while doing a nursing school clinical in the OR. He said the best thing to do when I was starting to get dizzy and lightheaded was to lie down if I could. I noticed that it was the worst when I was up on my feet for long periods, which is all the time in nursing. I just had to step away from what I was doing and get off my feet when I was starting to feel dizzy and drink water. I'm sorry I don't have more suggestions, I just kind of dealt with it and tried not to faint. It usually goes away later in your 2nd tri as it is due to increased progesterone levels.
Lololololol dana2006 I am going to be SO SORE tomorrow!!
Also, when Summer doea crunches, is that the kid's HEAD trying to break through?!? It's like alien!!
Haha, I never got that far. Good for you for following through. This gives me motivation--must see what fasty is talking about!
It was kind of torturous. It was a solid 50min. They went all through a weight routine, and I was like ahhhh I feel accomplished, and then they were like "well now that we know the moves, we'll repeat the circuit" .. ... and after THAT they were like "and now my favorite part" and I'm thinking ahhhh, cool down. SIKE. ABS.
