This weekend, I saw my weight hit the 140's for the first time in three years!
In 2010, I was able to reach 140 through lots of running and watching my diet carefully. Since then, though, weight crept on through periods of injury, crappy eating, and decreased exercise. Over two years, I had gained over 20 pounds.
I can thank an effort to eat lower carb / higher protein on my recent loss.
I'm planning to continue because I'd like to get down to 145. I don't think 140 is realistic for me anymore, because an increase in cycling over the last two years caused me to add more muscle mass to my lower body (for good reasons!).
I'm hoping that, if I'm 10 pounds lighter this summer than last, it'll help me be faster in races. It can't hurt, at least!
Congrats! I am also super jealous because I have been stuck in the 150s forever. I can never seem to get into the 140s no matter how hard I try but that is my goal for March.
