I started tracking my calories on MFP last week, because I wanted to get serious about losing a majority of the 10 lbs. between me and my racing weight, BEFORE I start pushing my body in a serious HIM training plan. Every time I've done detailed tracking, something has caught me by surprise. Today's is how much freaking sugar is in Activia yogurt.
It's not something I normally eat or have around, but my mom eats it so we had some lying around after their Christmas visit. Waste not, want not, so I'm eating it. 17 grams of sugar in 4 tiny oz! WTF! Mind. Blown.
So many sweetened foods can be deceptive! I like flavored yogurts but am trying to buy plain and add my own fruit or nuts. Maybe a dab of honey. I don't track sugar (or calories) but know I already eat too much...
I know, I went through a phase where plain greek yogurt + frozen berries was my every morning breakfast. (then I got tired of it. I go in streaks.) I just couldn't throw away the yogurts I had sitting in the fridge. I'm not a fan of actually eating them though! They even taste way too sweet to me.
yeah, it is eye-opening in MFP. I'm over every day for sugars and fat. I eat eggs quite a bit, so I know that is hurting me.....but even my daily orange helps skyrocket the sugar!
