Training schedule for the week? M: Bike ride w/DH, upper body, core T: 7 miles easy w/6x100 W: 8 miles w/3x1600 @5k T: hip/leg exercises, core, upper body F: 4 recovery w/5x100 S: 10-12 miles esy S: rest
Any injuries or vents? There's something odd going on w/the back of my knees. It's happened before, but luckily it doesn't seem to affect me much when I'm running. I think the hamstring tendon is inflamed at the point where it enters the back of the knee. It almost feels like two tendons are rubbing/snapping together. I'm hoping that it continues to not be an issue while running, and that the taper will let it calm down a bit.
Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? I already AW my yassos. While I don't think it's a direct reflection of my potential marathon time, they were 5 sec faster than the 6x800s that I ran in Chicago training. After bailing on that half I ran, and therefor not having a recent race time to go off of, it was nice to see the yassos as proof that I have definitely gotten faster over the last 12 wks.

Any injuries or vents? I feel puffy today and dehydrated - not sure why:(
right knee was bothering me last week again but then I switched to a new pair of shoes and felt fine on Sunday's run.
Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? Still got in decent mileage last week despite the crazy cold weather we had.

injuries/vents: I have a little bit of a tweak in my ankle/foot when running that's scaring me. I ran in the pool yesterday, ha.
highlights: was sick last week, but made up all missed swimming & running time on my trainer (close to the bathroom ). Not ideal, but I'm glad I did what I could instead of bagging it all. And omg a full 2 days off this weekend will be heavenly (planned it that way due to an event).

Any injuries or vents? I've been frustrated with being stuck on the treadmill, which has really resulted in cutting runs short and walking a lot. I'm hoping to get back on track outside this week.

Just some hip pain. It's been persistant ever since I started running again. It usually goes away after running for a little while.
Discovered a new paved trail in my neighborhood, It goes along a stream and through the woods. Only for 4.2 miles, but it's something. It will make for a nice out and back.
Tallahassee Half Marathon - Feb 2nd (its getting close.. eeek!)

Today - Run 3 miles Tomorrow - Rest (late night classes) Thursday - Run 4 miles Friday - Run 3 miles Saturday - Crossfit Sunday - Run 12 miles, its our last run and next week we taper.. yay!
Any injuries or vents? The muscle behind my knee I posted about yesterday was hurting so bad I couldn't walk but I did a lot of stretches and did a little walking last night and I must have worked it out because the pain is completely gone today, yay!
Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? I actually stuck with my training schedule and even added in an extra run last week. I also had to do the entire thing on the treadmill because it was super cold (at least as cold as it can get for Florida) on night and the other two nights it was pouring rain. When I showed up Sunday for my 11 mile run I was ready to go and my running partner even commented that she thinks this was the best run I have ever done with her.

Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? after my whining about when I will get my endurance back it seems to have gotten easier this weekend. I did 7.5 on Saturday in the low 9's and felt good after followed by 5 mi recovery on Sunday. hoping to get 20-25 miles this week.

Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? Felt good to get back to a training plan. I was happy getting back on track wasn't as painful as I thought after only running 3-4 times in December. Although I am struggling with getting out of bed in the morning.

Highlights and AW's to share from the past week?
I was very pleased with my splits for my 6 miler on Sunday. Most of it was on packed snowy trails and I managed negative splits in the realm of speeds I was training at before my 1/2 in October. And I managed 20+ miles last week in one of the coldest weeks in years.

Any injuries or vents? Not really
Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? Did my first 20 on Saturday and it went much better than last week's 18. I took it a tad slower and it definitely made a difference in how I felt at the end.
Hoping to finally break 2 hours at my HM this weekend...last year this race was 2:00:23 for me. If the weather and everything cooperates, I hope to bust through that 2:00 mark on Sunday. Fingers crossed.
Vents? I'm sick of the cold and when it's not cold it's raining.
YES! I had planned a nap time run today and it is cold and pouring. The only time I haven't run in the cold rain or on the TM in the last 2 weeks it was 20 degrees. I'm struggling to decide b/w the TM and the rain, but I'm definitely scratching the speed work for another day.

Training schedule for the week? Eek -- this is my last un-scheduled week - then I start a plan! I did 25 miles last week, so I'm thinking I'll do similar this week, maybe even cut back a bit. I think 8-9 miles as a long run.
Any injuries or vents? Nope, feeling good. Loved getting outside twice this weekend to run in the nice weather.
Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? Not really, just happy & excited to be back in training for something. I did sign up for the 1/2 before the price went up. It's always fun to hit "register!"

What are you training for? Date? Run the Bluegrass Half 3/29
Training schedule for the week? M - Swim lesson + 40min of practicing drills before class T - 3 mi W - rest R - 4 mi F - 3mi + swim with ds before his swim lesson S - 6 mi S - rest
Any injuries or vents? Just the usual soreness in my calves. I felt it last night when I swam, too, so I think I am going to suck it up and schedule a massage as soon as I know DH's teaching schedule for this semester. And will the temps and sunshine start working together? It was so nice and sunny when it was 7*, now we finally have temps in the 40s, but it has been raining! Not looking forward to today's run.
Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? None. I was doing well with sticking to my plan, but then I gave blood and exercising has been hard ever since. So, I guess my highlight was that I donated.
M: rest T: planned 6m w/4 tempo but didn't get home til late and it's not happening now W: thinking 6m w/3-4 @gmp Th: 3m easy F: 2-3m at recovery pace S: eat! S: 26.2!
Vents: I'm annoyed by my current rotation. Long hours in the OR are a lot harder to tolerate when I'm not planning to be a surgeon, and it's totally intruding on my running. My legs are more tired than I'd like from all the standing, and it's 50/50 if I'm going to be able to eat lunch. Yes I know I'm being really whiny and I signed up for this but damn it I just want to be able to do my runs this week. And also scratch my damn nose sometimes.
I also haven't really done any speed work at all since I started tapering, like at all. That's also bothering me.

Training schedule for the week? Monday - 4 miles with 3@gmp Tuesday - 9 miles with Yasso 800's x 4 Wednesday - Stregnth training (we will see if that happens) Thursday - more strength training? Friday - 20 miles Saturday - rest Sunday - 10 miles with 7@gmp
Any injuries or vents? No injuries (yay) and no real vents. I am tired this week and not sure if it's the training getting to me or if I am just tired.
Highlights and AW's to share from the past week? My 18 miler last week felt good. It's was super fast (45 seconds slower per mile than gmp) but I finished strong and was still smiling at the end.
