I cleaned out my closet last night and put away all the clothes that officially do not fit me. Closet has much more space now. Let's chat about maternity clothes.
1. How far along are you?
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes?
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff?
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done?
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? My sister gave me a big bag and another friend gave me a few pieces. Some of my sister's stuff is not my style at all (really bold prints, giant ruffles, etc.), but some of it is great.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? I tallied this up yesterday. I've spent $262, which includes a recent order from the Gap. I've bought two pairs of jeans, a black pair of work pants, several long-sleeve Ts, two sweaters, a couple of tanks, a few tees, a pair of workout pants, a pair of leggings and three dresses.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. I've managed to avoid the mall and have done almost all my shopping online at the Gap or Old Navy. My favorite shirts so far are the Pure Body long sleeve tees from the Gap.
I also really like a stretchy jersey pencil skirt from H&M (via my sister). I wear it once a week. It's great for work. This isn't it, but I think it's close.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? Yes. I'll offer to any close pregnant friends.

1. How far along are you? 17w1d
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? No, I'm very petite and no one I know who has been pregnant is my size.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? About $200, but I'm hoping much of the stuff will get me by until the end, with the exception of dresses I plan on buying for work when I'm closer to my due date in June. I also need to buy a couple new bras.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? Probably not because I don't know anybody that's my size. I do hope that I bought basic enough stuff that I can wear for future pregnancies, so I just plan on storing them in a bin under our bed.
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? nope, I'm short and don't have any close friends that are the same size!
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? maybe $250?
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. Old Navy and Gap have been my favorites - their pants come in short sizes and they have free returns. Plus they're inexpensive.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? Maybe - but probably just tops because of my shortness.

1. How far along are you? 28 weeks and a bit
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? My friend gave me a bag of stuff that was passed on to her but none of it really worked. Whoever gave it to her was pregnant in the summer so the stuff definitely did not work for a cold Canadian winter. She must also be really short because all of the pants were hemmed and were way too short for me.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? I just added it all up. $516.38...ouch! My mom also bought me a bunch of stuff for probably another $300ish.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. I don't have many choices around here. Most of my stuff has come from Motherhood or Kohl's (which carries a Motherhood line). I also have a few things from Old Navy and H&M.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? Not sure yet. My stuff isn't holding up super well. Since I wear it all so often, some of the stuff has faded and is piling. I hope to use it for another pregnancy if the timing works out.

1. How far along are you? 37 weeks
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? None
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? Probably around $400-500
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. Almost everything came from Old Navy, Kohls, Target, or Motherhood. I wasn't looking for anything super high end, so all 4 places worked perfectly fine. I would say, though, that the jeans I got from ON are much more prone to sliding down than the ones I got from Motherhood.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? I'm definitely one and done, so I have no intention of keeping any of it. I'll either donate it, or give it to a friend if someone happens to be pregnant around the time that I'm ready to get rid of the clothes.
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? None.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? Around $150. I have 3 pairs of pants, a pair of leggings, 6 shirts, 3 dresses.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. I have a few pieces from target, walmart and motherhood maternity. My favorite item is probably this maxi dress: www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=972940453&MasterCategory_Id=MC3 - I had a coupon so I think I paid around $40. I think it'll transition well from winter to spring, or at least I hope so.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? If anyone asked me for it, absolutely. We do plan to have a second child (hopefully around 2 years from now) so I hope to be able to use the clothes again.
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? No, most of my friends haven't had kids.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? Maybe ~$250-$300. I bought 2 nicer dresses, 2 jeans and some summer dresses. I only have one maternity top and have just been wearing pre-pg stuff.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. My black lace Asos dress I wore to a friend's wedding. love!
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? No, because most of my friends are smaller and we will try for another in 2 years or so.
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? No, but I have purchased a few lots of hand-me-downs
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? $150ish from Japanese Weekend Sale (new items); maybe another $100 on lots of hand-me-downs (local listserve, Ebay, & GBCN). Oh yeah, I forgot about Old Navy. Maybe another $75 there on new clothes.
I am barely wearing it yet, so one of my projects when I get back from Europe is to go through everything, try things on, organize, etc. I did box up 2 bins of "pre-pregnancy" clothes that either no longer fit or won't soon (or aren't seasonally appropriate)
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. Looking for more ideas!
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? Oh probably!
1. How far along are you? 31.5 weeks 2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? Nope. No one was my pre preg size. 3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? Roughly $300. 4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. Thank goodness for Target sales and the cartwheel app! This long sleeve shirt is sooooo soft, its my fav! www.target.com/p/liz-lange-for-target-maternity-long-sleeve-top-assorted-colors/-/A-14638321#prodSlot=large_1_18 5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? I guess if anyone I know gets pregnant
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? Not a stitch.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? More than I care to admit. I work in a dressy office so I've needed work clothes and weekend clothes. I'm trying to buy tops that can do double duty and I'm trying to keep my pre-pregnancy blazers in rotation.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. The only store in our area is Destination Maternity, but it's not my favorite. I'm short and require professional attire, and it's very weak in that area (unless I want to drop $150 on a top). Old Navy clothes are also way too casual for my office. I like how Gap has fit me so far, but wish they had more options. My favorite item so far is a faux-wrap A Pea in the Pod dress I picked off the clearance rack. It has a spring/summer print so hopefully I'll get a lot of wear out of it when my bump fills out.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? Probably not. Most of my friends are single or childless by choice, so they won't be looking for maternity clothes anytime soon.
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? No, and don't expect to.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? Maybe around $100, and that includes a few things not maternity but a size up.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. Target, because I only buy stuff on clearance and if I have a Liz Lange Cartwheel offer. I've gotten some cheap stuff that way. I know I'll have to spend more soon but don't want to yet. I just last night untagged and washed all my maternity stuff. I was waiting until my appt. yesterday went well.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? I guess, if someone needed it. I'll probably just try to sell the lot of it.

1. How far along are you? 38 weeks, 2 days
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? none
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? ~$500
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. I was pleased with Gap, Old Navy to a lesser extent. Seraphine maternity is nice for high end.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? No, I plan to save it for my next pregnancy.
Other advice - the clothes you prefer to wear during second tri will probably be different than third. That is, demi panels rock in 2nd and are the devil in 3rd. Those long t-shirt maxi maternity skirts make me look frumpy but dang if they're not my favorite thing to wear in third tri. Get some long tanks b/c a lot of maternity shirts are just too short.
2. I've borrowed a couple things, but nothing to keep. a wrap sweatshirt that is ah-mazing, black tights (from motherhood) and a spring trench that is entirely too cold for canadian winters, but was a much better option for h's fancy work party in december than my oh-so-bright ski jacket. i'm tall and my one tall previously pregnant friend was due in June, our seasons just didn't line up.
3. less than $50 on actual maternity clothes. maybe another $100 on stretchy, non-mat clothes? i'm cheap, yo!
4. true maternity - red skinny jeans on clearance at Burlington Coat Factory for $7. love love love them. they are long, fit perfectly, and didn't break the bank. non-maternity - super stretch dark wash jeggings from American Eagle a couple sizes up. they are getting a little sloppy in the behind now that my bump is moving south, but the low rise and my high bump was a perfect fit. and they are so comfortable. i'll keep them for a second pregnancy, but i like that i could consign them with my regular clothes and make back some of that $20 i spent :-)
5. I have two friends my height/size that are due the first week of August. I'll loan them stuff if they need, but i'm stocked for winter so it probably won't be that helpful.

1. How far along are you? 26 weeks
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? No
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? $250ish
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. My favorite tops are from Gap and Target. I hate all of my pants
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? No. Most of the stuff I have is from my first pregnancy and its all going to be worn to pieces.
Get some long tanks b/c a lot of maternity shirts are just too short.
i realize you and i are taller than the average lady, but this has been the biggest piss off to me.
i should not be able to buy longer (and stretchier!) tank tops basically everywhere else, than what motherhood and the like will offer me. i found a nwt motherhood tank at a thrift store when i was ~12w. it was too short by 16w! i've had way better luck with non-mat tank tops from TJMaxx, Old Navy, and Gap. super long - some long enough to cover my bum when i'm wearing tights - and the most expensive were $7. sure, they will be too stretched out to wear as regular shirts when i'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight/size, but i bought them to wear now so nbd.
same with t-shirts, short and long sleeve. my favorites are from TJs and Old Navy. all of them are longer than the three real mat shirts i bought and all were significantly cheaper.

2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? Nope. Most of my friends are done having kids already.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? Maayyybee $100, not including bigger bras. I've been able to wear most of my non-maternity tops still, even button-downs.

your link is just taking me back to this page, but i'm in canada so our options are severely limited. poor selection in store, and no ordering online unless we pay duty to ship from the states which makes target not so cheap. i have two liz lange tops though - one i bought in the states, one i bought here - i like them, but both are shorter than everything else i own.

That's too bad about your limited options. I do not understand why decent maternity clothes are so hard to come by, even here in the US. It's frustrating.

1. How far along are you? 18w,6d
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? nope, nothing but nobody is as short as me
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? I don't really know, but I hate to admit, probably between $300-$400. 2 maternity jeans, 3 dress pants, 1 pair of yoga pants, about 6 or 7 long sleeve ts, some short sleeve ts and a couple of tanks, and a few cardigans/sweaters. All of it on sale, but it adds up. None of my regular fit pretty early on because my torso is so short. I'll probably spend at least $200 more no dresses once it gets warm since I'm due in June and won't want to wear pants when I'm so big.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. I've gotten all of my pants from Motherhood Maternity - I really like that their petite sizes don't need to be hemmed. Shirts and sweaters from old navy/gap/target.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? If someone wanted it, but I doubt that will happen.
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? My MIL randomly had some maternity clothes that she had picked up ( by accident?) at various places over the years but aside from a few shirts no. My friends are all different sizes.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? I'd really rather not calculate that- probably $300-400 and I know I'm gonna need a few Summer pieces because in can start feeling summery in March here. I have gotten a fair amount as gifts thought too thankfully. I mostly invested in work pants and jeans b/c I feel I can get away with non- maternity tops longer.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. Motherhood and Target are the only places I've really shopped. I like the Jessica Simpson line at Motherhood when its on sale. I also got a few pieces on sale at Loft.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? No idea. If I know someone in need, then sure. I hope I'm able to reuse them the next time around.
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? Zero
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? I haven't spent much MYSELF (maybe $200? on a few pairs of jeans and a few tops), but I got a LOT of new maternity clothes as gifts from my mom and MIL. I honestly think my MIL shelled out around $500 in maternity clothes for me, and my mom probably spent somewhere around $200-$300. I honestly have more maternity clothes than I know what to do with.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. Most of my stuff is Motherhood Maternity, but I do have a few pieces from Gap and Old Navy that I really like. I think my favorite item is a shirt from the Jessica Simpson line at MM. I never would have picked it out, but my MIL got it for me and I love it.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? No, I will probably keep everything because I hope to have more kids. After that though, I will totally give stuff away to friends or to charity or whatever.
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? Yes last time I got stuff from my sisters, and this time a friend of mine who also happens to be short/my size gave me a bag of stuff. I have been very lucky.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? this time around not much yet, maybe $80. Last time maybe $200? $300 maybe. Since I got so much stuff from people I didn't have to buy a ton but it adds up quickly still. Maternity clothes are such a rip off.
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Mostly I bought things in target and h&M. a few things from Motherhood, and yesterday I ordered some stuff from gap because of their amazing sale. Normally I don't shop at the gap because I find it too expensive. I'm pretty cheap when it comes to clothes.
I like H&M for casual things, their jeans fit very nicely though they are WAY too long for me, I'm a shortie. This is what I like about Motherhood, their pants come in Petite sizes. So do pants from the gap but they never include jeans in their sales and I just refuse to pay $70+ for a pair of jeans.
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? I guess I would loan it if I knew someone who was my size but I'd probably want them back as I'm undecided on a third child.
I cleaned out my closet last night and put away all the clothes that officially do not fit me. Closet has much more space now. Let's chat about maternity clothes.
1. How far along are you?

5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done?
1. 11w1d 2. Nope, zero. However, I may get some once I tell my girlfriends. I have one friend due next month. 3. In the last two days... About $500. Oops. It was all on sale (once I return one pair of pants). I had to get pants, I was dying. 3 pairs of jeans from pea in the pod, 2 pairs of work pants (heel length and flats length), 4 dresses, and 2 long sleeved t-shirts from GAP, and a pair of jeans from ON. I have a lot of tunic-y shirts already, and several dresses that should work for most of the next tri. I will definitely get new bras at some point and probably one of those support-slip thingies since I plan to wear a lot of dresses in June and July. 4. I love love love the jeans from PitP. They look better than my non-mat jeans! 5. I'll probably keep the basic stuff for kid #2, and would loan to people I trusted to take care of it and return it.
2. I have one nice Seraphine dress that's on loan from a friend. Other than that, nothing.
3. Around $700-800. That's including a big splurge (almost $200) for 7FAM maternity skinny jeans, worth every penny as I wear them almost daily and they look/feel great and a fancy dress for a black tie wedding I had to go to ($200) which I've worn 3-4 times and will wear again next month to a gala if I don't go in to labor beforehand!
The rest is made up of Gap (2 long sleeved GapBody tees, several layering tanks, a sweatshirt and leggings), Old Navy (3 sweaters, yoga pants, bootcut jeans, 2 long sleeved tops), Target (several tees and bras and a pair of yoga pants) and pair of black pants and two nicer tops from a local maternity boutique.
4. I love my jeans. And the GapBody stuff is amazingly comfortable and flattering. 7FAM jeans + black long sleeved GapBody top is my go-to outfit when I want to feel good about my PG body!
5. Sure, I'd loan some of the nicer stuff out to a friend who would take good care of it. But we are hoping to have another kid in the relatively near future, so I probably wouldn't give it all away at this point.
I cleaned out my closet last night and put away all the clothes that officially do not fit me. Closet has much more space now. Let's chat about maternity clothes.
1. How far along are you? 22 weeks
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? I did get a big pile of clothes from a friend
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? Too much I am sure (thinking $300-500ish), but I have tried to get some pieces I'll be able to wear in the future while not pg (oversized cardigans, leggings with low rise, and some high waisted dresses)
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. I've gotten quite a bit of sale stuff from old navy and target that I love, and I do like the skinny jeans I got from motherhood maternity (they had long which I needed as I am 5'10")
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? I probably will although I think I may be the last of my friends to get pg so not sure.
I cleaned out my closet last night and put away all the clothes that officially do not fit me. Closet has much more space now. Let's chat about maternity clothes.
1. How far along are you? 16 +4
2. Have you gotten many hand-me-down maternity clothes? Nope. Anyone that I know that has been pregnant recently is teeny tiny, and I. . . am not.
3. About how much have you spent so far on new stuff? So far, about 80 bucks. Kohls had an online sale, with a 20% off promo code and 6% ebates, so I gpt two pair of pants, a pair of shorts, a dress, and a shirt (which I need to return, so maybe closer to 70 bucks, lol)
4. What is your favorite place to shop/what is your favorite item so far? Bonus points for links or pics. No one seems to have anything in-store here. Nothing at Kohls, Old Navy, no local Motherhood, and Target has about a half a rack of yoga pants, and that's it. I haven't tried the local h&m yet, but am not optimistic since I'm a size 14-16. So far, though, I love the Kohls work trousers I got - so comfy!
5. Do you plan to loan out your stuff when you're done? I wouldn't be adverse to it, but I have no explicit plans. We plan to have a second fairly quickly if all goes well, so they'll get used again.
