This week is a fall back week for me. I ran my long run (17) on Sunday because I had to work all day Saturday and was on my feet for 12+ hours- upside- I walked over 7 miles! I digress....My schedule for this week was
Tu:5 Wed: 8 Th:5 Fr: Rest Sat: 13.1
I have had as sadlebred said, "The Crud" since Christmas and I just feel wiped. Absolutely WIPED. I woke up to do my 8 this morning, went back to bed for 20 min got up again, got dressed out the door and just felt like the run was a bad idea for 2 reasons: my sickness (cough, stuffiness, and exhaustion) AND I have a nagging ache in my quad. I figured that I needed to rest, and that I would get my ache worked out at my massage tonight.
Long story short, I didn't do my 8. Please give me hairpats and tell me everything is going to be ok, OR that I need to suck it up and go do my 8 tonight after my massage.
Thanks for listening to my incessent obsessiveness!
Youll be fine! Sometimes you hve to listen to your body and take a day. If it were me, id plan to do somethingnshorter than 8 and then do as far as i could depnedingon how i felt when i was out. Make sense?
::Hair pats to someone else with the crud:: Let's hope it passes quickly for both of us!
Did you ever get the new meds?
YES-best app ever, it's called GoodRX. It shows the cash cost of your prescriptions at all pharmacies around you and gives you coupons. I used one of the coupons at CVS this morning and my RX that Kroger wanted to charge me $70 for was $38. ROCK ON. I felt like I had a Nike Fuel band on because I was walking out of the store saying "I am winning the day!"
(apparently the Nike Fuel band tells you to "win the hour" b/c my boss jumps up every hour and runs around the office screaming, "I'm going to win the hour!!")
Ditto everyone else. Sometimes, there is a good reason to skip a run. Missing this 8 will not derail you. Rest up. Once you feel better, you'll be back to kickin' ass.
