I've had that same type of pain. I'm not sure the exact cause, but it tends to be related to other alignment issues on that side of my body. Its definitely a weird feeling. I'm no anatomy expert, but there are so many tendons and connective tissue and different things in that area, maybe you've just inflamed something that connects to, or runs over that bone. Fingers crossed that some icing and a slightly scaled back running plan does the trick!
Thank you!! I was really tight in both my inner and outer thigh and hip areas so I'm hoping it is just some tendonitis.
I hope it's nothing too bad! When my pelvis tilts out of alignment, it can hurt awful bad. I make sure to do lots of foam rolling on those days, including my back.
