We choose not to do cloth diapers since I was working at the time. Now we are to the point that it's time to start potty training. Taylina asks to sit on the potty now when I take her diaper off to change her and yesterday she went #1 twice immediately after sitting on the potty.. no luck today yet. Anyway what I'm hoping someone can help me out with is what to do for cloth trainers. I don't want to do something that isn't waterproof since I prefer not to have my house wet/messy due to accidents. I just want her to be able to feel when she has done #1 which right now in disposable obviously she has no idea.
I think I'd prefer snap vs pull on at this point because she still needs my help. But I'm overwhelmed and have no clue where to start. Feel free to make other suggestions as well.
I'm not going to be much help since we just kind of went for it with naked time at the house and pull ups when out. We cloth diapered and I was afraid that by doing trainers it was to similar to a diaper and she wouldn't really worry if she went to the bathroom in them because she would think its a diaper. Sure enough she thought the same of the pull ups at first as well.
For the options you have picked out I would probably go with one that she could eventually push down and pull up on her own but that is also easy for you to gain access if needed. This way you aren't spending double the money later on ones that she can work herself.

I'm worried that if I did naked time around the house I'd be having to clean my carpet all the time.. and we have a lot of carpeting Currently as I didn't want to put a disposable diaper on her again she is wearing just a cloth diaper cover from BumGenius..
No problem, I know everyone is different thats why I wasn't sure my train of thinking when I had to do it with M would be much help or not. I do understand not wanting a bunch of messes on the carpet though that was always my biggest worry when we first started.
Do you have cloth diapers already? If you already have BumGenius covers, I would get some prefolds to set inside to soak up any accidents so T can feel the wetness. That way you wouldn't have to spend much additional money at first. If you're worried about puddles, cloth diapers would probably be a good intermediate step until T will reliably tell you when she has to go or when she just had an accident.
We switched to the pull up and down type training pants once G was using the potty more than half of the time during the day. Honestly I don't find them any worse than snaps for pee accidents and way easier for a million trips to the potty. My favorites are the Imse Vimse training pants, with the Blueberry ones a fairly close second. They will hold an entire pee accident without making a puddle but will wick onto clothing (and possibly other things) after a few seconds. So you would need for T to tell you immediately when she pees to avoid a bit of a mess. Unfortunately they're expensive ($18/pair) but I plan to leave G in them for a while. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions for me

I have 2 Bum Genius covers because before I decided I was going to do disposable I had bought 2 on sale just because. She has one on this afternoon and had an accident in one and was super upset because she knew she was supposed to pee on potty.
That's good info though.
I know I was debating about just buying more of the BumGenius Covers and getting some liners and switching to cloth until she is trained. So that way at least she'll feel when she is wet. Decisions, decisions!
We had the Gerber training pants - they're just padded underwear to absorb accidents. I wanted something that looked like underwear (we did CD and trainers looked/felt like diapers to me and I felt like it would be too confusing). Plus I figured it would be a quick transition and didn't want to drop a lot of money on something he was only going to use for potentially a couple of days...to maybe just a couple of weeks.
Those were the ones I had originally looked at but I just didn't know how well they would wick up pee accidents.
Since I haven't done cloth to her it's completely new to feel wet on her bottom when she pee's.

They absorb but don't hold a full pee for DD -- an accident for us would involve a new pair of pants, socks, and possibly shoes. I've heard some moms just double them up -- put two pairs on at once to get extra absorbency.

When we were using diapers, we didn't change the cover each time DD peed. We would grab a clean prefold but reuse the cover at least several times during the day. Depends on your personal comfort level, but that let us get by on considerably fewer covers.

We used the Flip trainers. They absorbed a whole pee, but were wet on her skin. She could pull them up or down or I could unsnap the sides to change her.
