So I thought I hated hot yoga, turns out I just don't really care for bikram much. I absolutely LOVE a new hot yoga studio that opened up by me! Its awesome!
I have a few questions for you yoga enthusiasts!
1. How similar/different are an hour of power vinyasa class (60 min) vs. a Power Vinyasa Yoga 75 Is it safe to assume the hour class is a bit quicker and the power class spends a little longer in poses?
2. My towel keeps making me slip. I have an awesome mat that I love, but I get so wet and sweaty and everyone else lays their entire towel out on their mats. Why? Its not good for me, I have to remove it, but feel like im doing something wrong lol . Ive tried spraying it down as well, im still slipping.
3. I always have giggled like a 3 yo at anything that "farts" during a class.........its usually the older students , in my experience, yesterday, I did it.........it was me, loud and clear and everyone knew. they laughed. I felt like an ass (literally!) and I am assuming the cute guy in class prob will NOT be asking me out anytime soon

For me the difference btw 60-75 mins is just how much they do but a good instructor should work you enough in both. 75 will just take you theu more poses but a flow class no matter the time should keep you moving.
As for the towel I never found any to work. The only thing that prevented me from slipping in hot classes or any class as i sweat terribly no matter what was The Mat from lululemon. It's awesome.
I hate bikram. I find it horribly boring. I like the variety of flow, hot flow, power, etc classes.
Everyone farts in class, it's no big deal. Who cares....
Similarities/differences vary widely by the instructor. I find the length of the class does too. There's one instructor at my studio that always runs over. I've taken gentle classes that are more like a slow flow and vinyasa classes that are more like hatha. With a good instructor the time doesn't matter, they'll get an effective workout in.
I have two towels neither stay 100% put. Since I switched and broke in my new mat, I really just keep the towel on the side to wipe my face. I have YogiToes and Manduka towels. I use a Jade mat.
Farting happens. You are twisting and folding and these things happen. Just keep going.

I have been doing hot yoga for about 2.5 years 3-4x a week & love it! I find the difference to be dependent on the instructors & type of class like the others have said above. In some of the 75 min classes tho sometimes there is more focus on connecting the breath to the body. As for slipping try wetting your hands & feet as well as your towel. I have a yoga rat & yogi toes towel that I rotate & find that if I wet my hands & feet plus my towel I can get a better grip.HTH!
