On TLC now - IVF = quads, dead father, 10 attempts

Oh, my.
Her husband died... she asked the hospital staff to withdraw his sperm right away.... she did 10 failed IFVs and then had quads.

I feel for the woman- i really do... horrible situation... but having his quads as a singl mom... oh boy- i hope his family is going to help out, and they were supportive of this.

Was he in the military? Or am I thinking of another story? Actually, I think there was someone on the military board who'd asked about doing such a thing. Pretty sure she got flamed to high heaven for it, too.

Unless he signed in his will that he was willing to be a sperm donor after his death, I think it's awful of this woman to do.

He wasn't military (unless i missed a part of the story... but i don't think i did)... just the love of her life, etc...


ETA - just checked the "info" and he died in a car crash.... not military.

Dude, it's sad that he died but IDK, the family he always imagined . . . they'd always imagined . . . I think most people always imagined raising a family with their spouse.

I'm not sure there's anyone who thinks to themself, self, I'd like to die and leave my child with no memory of me and only their mother's grief.

I've seen that one. Their families seem really sweet and supportive but I would love to see a follow-up to see how they are Doug now because I can't imagine doing that on my own. Hell, I can't even imagine raising the 2 I have on my own.

I think mandatory counseling is a great idea.

I "know" a girl who got pregnant with her dead DH's baby through IVF, and has now photoshopped him into their "family pictures." I feel for her, I really do, but I wonder about her mental health.

Photoshopped? Eww. How would she explain the later absen...no, just eww.

Yeah. She's one of DH's friends from high school, and I found them on his fb one day. She's a super nice and sweet girl, but... She's had some major trouble greiving. He's been gone almost three years (he had cancer and passed away a few months after their wedding) and his name is still on fb, and on a sign in front of her house, and then the pics.

It's just sad, and I wonder how anyone thought it was a good idea for her to get pregnant.
