Someone on my Facebook feed posted about mommeetmom.com . It's a site for moms to meet other moms to become friends with them. I signed up. It's in the BETA test phase right now… I'll let you know what I think.
well so far it looks pretty legit. It's free, so that's nice, and there are about 10 moms in my area already signed up. You can search for moms near you, and you can also get matches, like on dating sites, of people that share your interest/family size/style.

you answer questions about your political and religious beliefs when you sign up , they're optional, but you can answer if you want, and then you also say how important or unimportant it is to find moms who are like you in each area.

I signed up last week and have been matched with a few promising people so far. I haven't met anyone in person yet, but so far everyone seems ok.
did you message the people you were matched with, or did they message you?
one of each. There are only about 15 people signed up in my area, so if I can even meet one new person I would be pretty happy. We haven't been in this area that long, so meeting new people is nice. Plus, I attract the crazies. For real. Since I'm actually pretty nice in person (lol), though blunt, the crazies love me. :-)

I'll check this out too, but I have such a great group of Mom friends who I met through local Meetup.com Moms groups.
There was one for our local town which is super active and one for Moms over 35.
I would be friends with all these people even without the kiddos which is awesome. I highly recommend it.
I have a feeling that my large local moms meetup is a little clique-y from their Facebook page, and I do better with one on one meetings than large groups to start out with.
Great idea, especially for those who do not like groups. I've met lots of great moms through a meetup group, too...but developing close friendships through a group like that often leads to cliques and/or hurt feelings. This way eliminates that problem.
Is there a place for meeting friends who are also moms, but who want to talk about and do non-kid related things? Who won't constantly complain about "OMGGGG....life is just sooooo busy. I never get any time to myself!" Yeah, I'm right there, too...but we don't need to talk about it all.the.time!
