A house across the street from us has been vacant since we moved in 6 years ago. A few months ago a bunch of kids moved in. There are about 6 cars that come and go all day all night. They have broken furniture on their front lawn. Most days we wake up to trash spewn all over the grass. There is a muddy Bronco parked out front that a couple is living in. They have a pitbul, a Doberman, and a pig. Yes a pig. We are friendly with their next door neighbors who told us that they drained the pool incorrectly and all the cement broke and rose with the water and is all over in the back. It's a real mess and it's an eyesore on an otherwise nice friendly neighborhood street. My husband looked up the owners online and it appears to still be the couple who left it for foreclosure. Then he called the Sherrifs non emergency line who said there is nothing they can do. So apparently there is nothing stopping people from making homes or drug dens in these empty houses.

Yep. It stinks until the bank actually forecloses on the house and kicks them out there is nothing they will do. It stinks. We had a similar situation at the house next door
I can't believe in 6 years the bank still hadn't foreclosed. Apparently they don't rush because then they have to pay taxes and assume liability. But as it stands, if any of these kids get hurt it seems like it's the responsibility of the owner who left it vacant years ago, which I don't get also. He should want them out. H did finally get someone from the sherrifs office out there today so we'll see if anything pans out from it. It's so trashy. They're keeping the Doberman chained up to the Bronco on the front lawn. If my house was up for sale it would never go with this across the street. Just when we were finally getting our value up.
And get this. There is no electricity. My friendly neighbor said he saw the electric company there a few days ago so he and H walked around and saw that the meter has been ripped off the house. It's probably warmer sleeping in the bronco.
