Was it surprising enough for you? A little too predictable? What did you think of the introduction of Mary's character? Guy Fawkes storyline? Overall, just loving Benedict's return as Sherlock?

It.was.AMAZEBALLS.

I saw it online right after it came out in the UK, so I've been itching to talk about it with everyone who waited.

It was perfection. Every second.

I will hold off on talking about Mary too much since I've seen the entire series already. I didn't like her at the beginning. There was something "off" about her character that didn't sit well with me. I liked her by the end of the series.

The biggest thing for me was how much the episode was a love poem/fuck you to the fandom. Anderson perfectly embodied the entire fandom, right down the moment when he started ripping the papers off the wall. I seriously loved that about the show and the writers. They knew exactly what they were doing to the fandom and they just did not care. They never said how Sherlock survived but at the end of the episode you'd almost forgotten that was the reason you held out for so long for season 3.

I liked it overall. I'm not 100% sold on Mary yet, but I guess I should just be happy that her plot line didn't take too much away from the OTP of this show.

I was really thrilled to have the show back, and I liked seeing John angry and Sherlock missing him a bit!

I hear ya @dr.girlfriend. I had conflicting feelings on Sherlock's harshness in this episode. It's like he not only was aloof and self-centered but also taunting in his behavior.

I'm not sure what that means.  That you disagreed with them?  That they are too long?  Also, fyi, you have to leave the period out of my username if you really want to tag me.  :-D

Both.  I think I see the storylines differently than you but I haven't had the time to fully read the critiques to figure out where the difference is!

And thanks for the heads up on your sn.  Do I just leave the space blank or make it all one word?

I'm dr.girlfriend .  Oh, that's weird, I actually typed @ + drgirlfriend and I guess it corrected it for me to show my "displayed" screenname, the underlying screenname is all one word without the period.  I'll admit I was VERY fired up when I wrote my epic critique of The Empty Hearse.  I was much less incensed about the other episodes, lol.
