What are you training for? Date? A series in March (5k) and April (10k, my first); also a quarter marathon in May.
Training plan for the week? Yesterday I ran about 2 1/5 miles. I'm going to try to get in a couple on the treadmill late today and Thursday (we've got something going on both evenings and it's frigid). Saturday I'm hoping to get outside but we'll see.
Vents or Injuries? Just that I'm still struggling with getting back on track after being sick around the holidays.
Highlights from last week? I actually got out and ran, which is more than I can say for the week before.
M - Off Tues - forced rest Wed - Speedwork Thurs - Ride - hill workout Fri - run/masters Sat - 60 minute run Sun - 30 mile ride
Vents or Injuries?
Nagging achilles. The front of one of my hips started hurting after masters last week, and got worse after running. I want to stop falling apart, please.

I finally stopped being a big scared baby and took my bike off the trainer and rode it outside.

7k on 3/15 (signed up this morning) 1/2 on 4/26 or 5/4 (can't decide which one! - I won't do both)
long term, my racing goal for 2014 is two 1/2 marathons, two 10k's and two 5k's
Training plan for the week?
as usual, 20+ running miles, one yoga class, one lifting session
Vents or Injuries?
The universe is conspiring against me and getting my "beach bod" (LOL) for my trip in March. Work and the weather are not letting me get the miles/workouts in that I need.
Highlights from last week?
I finally made it to yoga! It was a heated vinyasa class and I felt lost some of the time, but overall I was able to keep up. I felt terribly inflexible, but I liked how I felt when I was done.
What are you training for? Date? Austin marathon 2/16
Training plan for the week? M and Tu: Rest (recover from sunday's race) W:5 easy miles R:10 miles F:Strength Sa: 5 miles Sun: 20 miles, with last 3(?) at gmp
Vents or Injuries? My quads are angry about all the downhills I ran on Sunday. Stairs and sitting down hurt.
Highlights from last week? Did you hear I ran a HM in under 2 hours on Sun? ;-)
Hopefully you don't get a flat trying to get to this race. Ha. I totally giggled when I read the part where you got out of the port a potty line when they were doing the countdown. I waited for my friend to take care of business and we just kind of jumped into a pace group as people were starting to cross the start line. I totally jumped into the wrong pace group. Whoops.
What are you training for? Date? Chi Town Half Marathon, 4/6/14
Training plan for the week? I still haven't really decided if I want to follow a plan or just run. I've been really lazy since my marathon. Tentatively, I will probably do 3 easy miles, 40min tempo, 3 miles easy, 60min long run - with 2 days of weight training thrown in for good measure.
Vents or Injuries? No real vents, just trying to get back into a groove
Highlights from last week? I did a killer hill workout on the treadmill. I generally hate both hills and the treadmill, so to put them together into a monster of a workout and nail it felt really good.
Ummm, yeah. I would AW the shit out of that, runaways! What a perfect race. Nicely done!
What are you training for? Date? Just a marathon on Sunday.
Training plan for the week? I don't know! ::imagine me whining:: Pfitz people, (cinco, runaways, ebeth, Wines Not Whines), what did you do your final week? I feel like Pfitz is a bit too much the final week. I did 5 last night, and since my legs just wanted to go, it was only 10-15 sec slower than MP. I was thinking light x-training today, W: 5-6 w/2 at MP, then maybe 4 on TH and 3 on Saturday?
Vents or Injuries? I need to step away from the weather. My beautiful race day now shows 50% chance of rain. The temps look good, and there isn't rain on either side of it, so I'm hopeful it will get slightly better as the week goes on. At the very least, it probably won't get worse.
Highlights from last week? Nada
I def scaled back. I think I did 4/5/4 with 2@MP/rest/rest/race I don't remember exactly.
I mean, I was hurting at the end. But it wasn't a struggle really at all. I never felt like I needed to walk and I knew if I slowed down it would still hurt, it would just hurt longer.
I'm going to play your splits & the bolded over & over again in my head on Sunday. This was the pacing inspiration I needed to see to try and have a smart, confident race. I'm so impressed in the night & day difference between Chicago & Houston for you. Congrats, again. Really awesome job.
This means a lot coming from you, so thanks! I have no doubt you are going to absolutely lay waste to that course on Sunday.

I'll just ditto this now, for a few weeks from now. Amazing splits and perfect mantra runaways!
Thank you! I think you're going to see a big improvement from your last go round, based on your new half time. If nothing else, at least you know what to expect this time!
What are you training for? Date? no official training right now, working on calendar for upcoming races. HOPEFULLY the Marine 17.75k and just signed up for another half on 6/1.
Training plan for the week? M-3.5, T-3ish, W-TBD (wind chill is supposed to be around 10!), Th-TBD/weights, F-3-4, Sat-6-7, Sun-booty kicking crosstraining
Vents or Injuries? same old, ready for my house to be finished and not happy with the 3 post-marathon pounds I've been carrying
Highlights from last week? great runs in the 8:30s, which is FLYING for me!

20 mile race 4/13 (yikes) and Pittsburgh Half 5/4
S - rest M - 4 miles T - walk, PT W - 5 miles Th - PT F - soccer game Sat - 8 miles w/goal pace intervals
Vents or Injuries? My right leg has range of motion issues at the hip for a couple years now, I just have to stay on top of my stretches and PT exercises and it is mostly okay.
Highlights from last week? My birthday was Sunday so I did my long run on Saturday -- all 8 miles of it on the treadmill, my longest treadmill workout to date. And it really wasn't too bad. I'm becoming a wuss to running in the cold this winter with my new treadmill.
