Vents or Injuries? Ankles and shins hurting for some reason. More sore than pain.
Highlights from last week? Great duo challenge Saturday. Felt fantastic. Pace was great!

Vents: My knee is acting a bit achy, but I'm hoping a shoe change will do the trick. I've been overdue for a while.Also, insert my usual weather/snow/ice complaints here. It's another treadmill week.
AW: Both of my pace workouts (marathon and half marathon) last week were great! I feel like things are coming together this training cycle.

Training plan for the week? I don't know! ::imagine me whining:: Pfitz people, (cinco, runaways, ebeth, Wines Not Whines), what did you do your final week? I feel like Pfitz is a bit too much the final week. I did 5 last night, and since my legs just wanted to go, it was only 10-15 sec slower than MP. I was thinking light x-training today, W: 5-6 w/2 at MP, then maybe 4 on TH and 3 on Saturday?
Vents or Injuries? I need to step away from the weather. My beautiful race day now shows 50% chance of rain. The temps look good, and there isn't rain on either side of it, so I'm hopeful it will get slightly better as the week goes on. At the very least, it probably won't get worse.

Training plan for the week? M - Swim lesson T - 3 mi + strength W - 4mi R - 3 mi F - rest (may get some swimming in) S - 7 mi S - rest
Vents or Injuries? I am tired. All. the. time. I could barely make it through the workday, then was in bed as soon as DS was down for the night. Any attempt at running last week was awful. My body felt like it was made of lead. I felt this way before donating blood, so unfortunately I don't think it's related to that. I'm going to give it another week, and if nothing changes, get my thyroid and iron levels checked again.
Highlights from last week? I got nuthin. Last week was crap.
What are you training for? Date? Good question. A spring half or two. Probably a 25k. Hopefully some shorter distances in there, too. I can't seem to commit to anything right now.
Training plan for the week? M: nothing - chest cold kept me on the couch T: nothing again - I'm hoping a few days of just resting will help me kick this cold W: random workout DVD Th: 5 mile run F: 3 mile run S: random workout DVD Su: 9 mile run
Vents or Injuries? I know I need to take time off since my cold is in my chest, but I hate skipping runs.
I usually go rougue that final week. With Freedom's Run we were flooding so I skipped a couple runs, and with MCM I was still sore so I went pretty light. The only time I followed exactly was the year I ran Boston, but there was an extra day of total rest (Sun) b/c it was a Monday race. I've always felt his final week is a bit much.
clseale I went pretty light last week. My plan was M rest, T 6w/4@tempo, W 3 easy, Th rest, F 2 easy, S rest, S race. It got a little disrupted by my work schedule.
Thanks, cinco & runaways. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks his final week is a bit aggressive. With the long run (marathon), it would be a 48 mile week. I know there aren't any 10-12 mile mid-week runs, but that doesn't seem like much of a taper. lol I think I'll keep his intensity (a few MP miles & some strides), but cut the miles.

Training plan for the week? Monday- rest/exhausted... Tuesday - 4.4 miles, was supposed to be all easy, but the TM was driving me nuts so I did about a mile at goal marathon pace. Core work Wednesday - 4 miles, with 2 at tempo Thursday - off Friday - 4 miles easy Saturday - 8 or 9 miles Sunday - off / core work
Vents or Injuries? No, knock on wood. Feeling good!
Highlights from last week? Survived a really light running week (busy week overall) before stepping up training. Major highlight was 35 degrees on Sunday, even though I worked all day & didn't fit in a run.

Those are beautiful splits -- like textbook perfect! I'm so impressed by that. Did you you feel ok in the last 10K, or was it a major struggle to increase your pace at the end?
M: masters + 45 min run T: 60 min bike + 30 min run W: masters + 90 min bike + 60 min hot yoga R: 90 min run F: masters S: 2.5 hr ride + 15 min trans run S: 90 min hot yoga
Vents: right arch/ankle/Achilles hurts when running, but rolling is helping. Running has been really hard for me since my last marathon
AWs: just getting everything done feels like an accomplishment. I did hold my standing boat pose for the full minute on both legs last week, woop!

I foresee lots of treadmill time until next week. We're in NJ right now, so I'm bundling up to run outside this morning before the 8-10" of snow arrives this evening. I'd like to hit 30 miles for the week.
Vent: I'm down to my last 2 weeks of maternity leave.
AW: I had a pretty good volume week last week. 35 miles run, 90 minutes elliptical.

B&A half 3/30 Training this week: Mon: 8 miles Tues: just ran 10 in the snow! Wed: 6 with strength Thurs: XT Fri: 6 Sat: off Sun: 12 Feeling good! Only vent is the weather. I ran outside this morning but we are looking at sub zero temps the next couple days

What are you training for? Date? I have a half marathon coming up in 2.5 weeks on the 8th. Other than that, I'm working on my swimming for this summer.
Training plan for the week? Yesterday was 5 mile run and weights, today swimming, probably another run tomorrow and then swimming again on Thursday. Sunday is long run day.
Vents or Injuries? My ankle has been bothering me. I think it's an overuse thing, so I might skip runs for the rest of this week if it sticks around.
Highlights from last week? Felt great on my 20k run, but my total pace was super slow because I had to keep slowing down to shuffle across black ice on the trails.

Vents or Injuries? My knee was bothering me yesterday but I felt great after the first mile. My shins have been a little tender in the morning from running on the treadmill but it's too dark and I'm too blind to do weekday's outdoors right now.
Highlights from last week? It's over. Last week sucked. I did go to an intro spin class that taught me about setting up the bike and such.

I mean, I was hurting at the end. But it wasn't a struggle really at all. I never felt like I needed to walk and I knew if I slowed down it would still hurt, it would just hurt longer.

Highlights from last week? I ran the longest I have ever ran for our last long training run.. 12 miles! For someone who thought they would never even be able to do a 5K this is such a huge accomplishment for me and I feel so prepared now for my first half marathon next weekend.
hannahb How's your little guy doing? I'm seriously impressed by he amount of mileage you're getting in. I hope he's letting you sleep
He slept 12 hours last night! First night we didn't get up in the middle of the night! And I am equally as impressed with what you've been getting in! Hope your little guy is doing well too

I'm going to play your splits & the bolded over & over again in my head on Sunday. This was the pacing inspiration I needed to see to try and have a smart, confident race. I'm so impressed in the night & day difference between Chicago & Houston for you. Congrats, again. Really awesome job.

Training plan for the week? M and Tu: Rest (recover from sunday's race) W:5 easy miles R:10 miles F:Strength Sa: 5 miles Sun: 20 miles, with last 3(?) at gmp
Vents or Injuries? My quads are angry about all the downhills I ran on Sunday. Stairs and sitting down hurt.
