I'm an 80's movie tragic. Say Anything and The Princess Bride go without saying.

The Breakfast Club The Blues Brothers Beverly Hills Cop Mystic Pizza Flight of the Navigator Steel Magnolias Clue Major League Uncle Buck A Fish Called Wanda Better Off Dead Dead Poet's Society Summer School Weekend at Bernie's Chariots of Fire Peggy Sue Got Married Dragnet The Secret of NIMH Spies Like Us Teen Witch and the list goes on...

Yeah, I agree with all of the John Hughes movies being on there. I'm fond of a number of films that are already on the list. I'll see if I can remember any others.
Desperately Seeking Susan - Material Girl era Madonna Around the World in 80 Days - 1989 version - this was apparently a mini-series with Pierce Brosnan, I watched it with my Grandma The Living Daylights & License To Kill - these were the cheesy '80s Timothy Dalton James Bond films Queenie - with Mia Sara from Ferris Bueller - all these 80s tv movies used to run on tv back in the day, this one wasn't bad Valmont - this had Colin Firth and Annette Bening, it was like an '80s Dangerous Liaisons/Cruel Intentions Monte Carlo - tv movie with Joan Collins as a spy Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Basically anything with James Spader in the 80s in it Endless Love - this was kind of over the top in that 80s way The Blue Lagoon The Scarlet Pimpernel TV movie Oxford Blues - very cheesy but funny Rob Lowe comedy - actually most Rob Lowe comedies from this era are fun
Basically the 80s was great for tv movies, cheesy-but-in-an-endearing-way comedies and dramas, and certain celebrities some of whom are still around.
Oh yeah, from the Oscars list:
Amadeus Out of Africa Chariots of Fire (I actually need to watch this one) Moonstruck Sophie's Choice (very, very sad) Broadcast News A Room With A View There are a lot of other good ones from among the list of Oscar nominees, including some that I should probably watch sometime.
Nearly forgot When Harry Met Sally, classic great film. Also Splash was fun. So yeah, Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan, and Tom Hanks are others who made some classic 80s good movies. It's from 1991 but I also liked City Slickers.
I've watched them much later than the 80s but here it goes nonentheless: Back to the Future!!! Tootsie Top Gun Young Sherlock Holmes Flashdance Big The Little Mermaid (the only one I watched when it came out in '89) Labyrinth
OMG yes, all of the above! I had to refrain from saying it out loud!
But seriously: Dead Poet Society Breakfast Club Dirty Dancing Pretty Woman Mystic Pizza Big Back to the Future Honey, I Shrunk the Kids The Blue Lagoon Tootsie The Breakfast Club The Blues Brothers Beverly Hills Cop Flight of the Navigator Rocky Cocoon Indiana Jones series
I'll admit to owning half of these on dvd.
Anything with Louis de Funès, especially the "gendarmes" series.
Ok, OMG, you just sent me to google and I keep gasping at my desk!!! Le Grand Bleu ET Trois homes et un couffin (the original French version of 3 men and a baby) La cage aux folles (ditto above) Manon des Sources & Jean de Florette!!! When Harry met Sally!!! La Boum!!!
I'm hyperventilating with excitement at this list I found. I'm absolutely buying the ones I don't already own.
