Shopping yesterday sucked. I can no longer easily find my size in the local Zara/other chains.
Dismayed with the lack of clothes success I hit the makeup/perfume store. I had been using Clinique's CC cream in "light medium" during the summer into fall but, as usual, I've become ghastly pale again and the light medium is way, way too dark.
I cannot find anything in my region that would work for my skin tone. I am also completely helpless with makeup, but I want to be a bit more professional (aka "Hide my acne") since I'm now working in businesses as well as with kids. Do you guys have any ideas?
Post on the MM makeup board for more advice. Do you have a Sephora or Perfumerias Oriental (if those still exist???) near you? Go in and ask for advice. The makeup counters at el Corte Ingles might be helpful, too. I like Clarins and Clinique brands if you go the department store route.
I have trouble finding stuff here that is pale enough for me. (in fact, even in the US, many lines of make-up don't carry things light enough for me in winter) I tend to use the Bare Minerals make-up, but if you are looking for extra coverage, that might not do as much. I find that it works really well for me and haven't had too much trouble matching my skin tone.
Funny side note, I used to go to a make-up shop in the US that I really liked. I went in to buy my powder that I always bought, the lightest color that they had. The lady proceeds to tell me that I've got the wrong color and that only dead people wear that color. So we tried the next shade up and it was clearly too dark...I took my dead people's make-up and never came back....

The Sephora lady was brutally honest: "I'm sorry honey, but there's just no makeup this shade here." Corte Inglés may be my only hope.

What a weenie. I'm sorry you had to put up with that!
Is there a Mac store or counter anywhere near you? Mac makes a white base that you can mix with darker foundations to make them lighter. Sometimes it's the best solution if you don't want to discard perfectly good make up that isn't the right shade.

At least she was honest? It would suck for her to sell you something that looked bad in daylight.
I have a lot of trouble finding non-department store BB here. I had good luck at MAC the other day though. I have super pale skin.
I'm no help. I'm very pale as well, and am also extremely picky. I pretty much just use this one brand of foundation called Marcelle that I think you can only get in Canada. Every time we get a visitor I make them bring me 2 or 3 bottles of it. I'm pretty sure I would panic if my supply ever ran out.

I totally prefer her honesty. I really don't like it when people tell me "Oh yeah, this will work!" and I'm looking at something that's about five shades darker than I am...
