Has anyone seen the stories about these super rare NES carts going up for auction lately? The first one -- which was previously unknown to collectors -- sold for $100,000. So two collectors have decided to sell theirs. The current high bid for the Gold cart (rarer than the gray one, even) is "only" $21K or so.
Did anyone else play in the NWC? I went to our local qualifier and ended up going on stage on before eventual champ Thor Aackerlund. He travelled to most of the qualifiers so that he could get more practice.
I think she had even offered it to her kids and no one wanted it, and she had some super rare game. Didn't know she had a rare game. I can't get my DH to sell any of his consoles and games.
Yeah, Stadium Events is the rarest game sold to the public. I think that there are more known copies of the NWC carts than of SE, because the NWC winners kept them as keepsakes or collectibles, while the rarity of stadium events is basically an accident.
