Or any other recipe for any other dinner? Ugh. It's my turn to make dinner tonight and I never know what to make. I hate having to figure out dinner all the time.
I made it this summer. It was fantastic. It wasn't difficult, exactly, just had to be watched/maintained. I found file powder in the ethnic aisle at our grocery store where they keep New Orleans / Cajun / Creole mixes and such. I used a bag of frozen shrimp and a jar of oysters found in front of the fish counter to keep the costs down. I also added fresh cod (it was not expensive for just one filet).

I will also add that my SIL's FIL comes for Christmas Eve every year and makes gumbo using Zatarain's mix and whatever directions / ingredients it says. I always snarf his gumbo up.
