1. Did you have a 4D ultrasound? How far along were you? Do you have a recommendation of a place to get it done?
2. Can you recommend a (holistic leaning) pediatrician?
3. I was at the birth center today and on my chart the midwife said, "so did y'all think it was a boy and it turned out to be a girl?" um... no.... why? She scared the shit out of us. There was boy written in our chart and it was crossed out and changed to girl. We better be having a girl or else our boy is wearing cute bohemian dresses. LOL (See question 1. Must get confirmation)
4. I had my glucose test today. I better pass that mother fucker.
Lol don't worry you're having a girl, and you'll ace your test. Trust me. If me and my snicker doodles did than you will . A's pedi is AHmazing and I love him and you would too so move over here already!!! (sorry I know I can get repetitive) ETA didn't do the 4D

1) We did with Kennedy at a place called "Look Who's Kickin" and I honestly didn't think it was worth the money. We opted not to do it this time.
2) Dr Berger is holistic and supposed to be very good, but he doesn't take insurance and he's on Bearss. I love my pedi - Dr Perkins. She's in a large group but she's been very accepting of my selective vaccines, breast feeding, co-sleeping, etc. she's on Fletcher near UCH.
3) I'm sorry but this has me LOL. I'm sure it's a girl, they probably had it written in the chart wrong or something and then realized it after your ultrasound. Mod you have pics of it your ultrasound?? If you weren't planning to do a 4D, I honestly wouldn't do it just because of this, but maybe I'm in the minority here.
4) I'm sure you have nothing to worry about with the glucose test!
I had a lot of ultrasounds & asked every time to make sure he was still a boy. Lol. Even though I had a very clear picture of his man parts, I still thought there was a chance they could have mistaken it for another body part.
Good luck on the glucose test. I'm sure it'll be perfect.

I agree with Jennifer. Do not waste your money on the 4-D, if you are looking for the 4-D "experience". Girl 4-D photos come out extremely blurry. I don't know the reasoning for this but you can ask any U/S tech and they will tell you that the photos you see on the advertisements are ALWAYS boys. My sisters 4D was amazing, it was like getting a sneak peak of my nephew, before he was born. Every single girl 4D scan that I have seen, I am less than impressed. If you are looking to do it just for confirmation, go for it.
I absolutely love our pediatrician but I doubt you want to drive to Brooksville to see him
Good luck with your test! I am sure you will do fine
My doctor ordered one for us and I had it done at my hospital so it was free for me. We don't have all the fancy pictures and DVDs people usually get at the other places. If I didn't have that, I think I would've gone and gotten one myself. It always reassured me to see her on the u/s. I think you should get one by around 30 weeks because the baby gets too big and you can't really see anything once that happens. We had a growth u/s at 37 weeks and she was so squished in there we couldn't see much.

My first pregnancy, I had a 4D included in my regular in-office 20 week ultrasound. We didn't know we were going to get it beforehand either. It was awesome and since it was our one & only ultrasound, it was a neat surprise. I took the disk they gave us and set it to lullaby music and everyone I emailed it to told me it made them cry. For my second pregnancy, we had to go to a different office for a very detailed ultrasound to rule out birth defects, and there was no 4D. It was wonderful to get the first time, but not big enough of a deal that I felt I needed to go pay for one the second time around.
And I do know someone who thought they were having a little girl only for it to be a boy. Even though with both of my pregnancies I was guaranteed the gender, part of me always feared that happening. I kept joking if Maisy wound up a being a boy, he better like a shabby chic bedroom cause that was staying.
I did, 30 weeks, 31 and 34 weeks because he was uncooperative, the pics were equally as good. They say not to go much past 34 though because their head can be too low.
Boy/girl is scary, lol! I did get another ultrasound at my dr at 36 and they confirmed gender again. Not sure if everyone gets that though.
The doctor I had with MacKenzie did 4D u/s with each pregnancy and since I was high risk, I got them all the time. While they were really neat to look at, they are expensive if your doctor doesn't just give you the option. I only got one with Madeline once because it was a temp u/s tech helping out the office and she wanted to play with the machine; she did not cooperate...
I have no experience with holistic medicine per say, so I cannot comment on that. I am happy with my regular pediatrician.
I asked EVERY u/s if MacKenzie was still a girl. I had tons of people tell me "Well, you never know!" People just need to keep their mouth shut. Obviously, we had a girl and I am not worried this time!
Amen to that! The "hope you're right about that..." accompanied by the headshake comments made me aggro. I trusted my tech. She saw the lines. Sometimes people just can't help it.
