I try to run outside when the weather is good and when DH is home (I SAH with two kids) but its not enough. Wondering about a decent in-home workout. Do I need to invest in a weight bench? Treadmill? What do you do in-home?
Three years ago, when I was just starting out trying to get in shape, I did at-home workouts using my Xbox Kinect. It really helped me to develop a base level fitness. I know a lot of girls in these parts also do videos sometimes.
I do DVDs a lot at home - mostly Jillian Michael DVDs including Body Revolution, 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30, and Hot Yoga Meltdown. We belong to a gym so the majority of my workouts are at the gym or outside, but I started working out a few years ago just doing DVDs at home.
I only have an 8x10 area to work out in so I have to go equipment free. I use videos from youtube. I had been doing jillian michaels kickbox and 30 day shred. I recently discovered fitness blender videos and really like it because there is no annoying background music so I can put on whatever I want over it. Some of the videos use some light hand weights, but most of it are body weight exercises.
I have a treadmill in our basement which was the best investment for winter and mid summer training. I also have a variety of Jillian Michaels workout DVDs, check Amazon, free shipping and great prices.
I believe Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred was my first workout DVD. Oh wait, I lied, it was Tae bo!
We have added to our home gym over the years, so we have quite a bit now. We have: Treadmill Exercise bike Kettlebells Medicine balls Adjustable weights up to 50 lbs Pull up bar Exercise bands Stability ball TV and DVD's
The first things we bought were the treadmill and adjustable weights (it came with the treadmill) and we definitely use them the most.

I have a spare room where I can workout. In there I have a DVD player, yoga balls, some handweights, yoga mats/blocks/straps, an indoor cycling bike (I push it to the side when I'm not using it), pullup bar & assist, bands w/ door attachment, and a set of Olympic weights. I don't have a bench, so I can am limited how I can use the weight set.
I have a selection of DVDs that I choose from: P90X P90X3 (doing this currently) Insanity Physique 57 Shiva Rea & other yoga some 30DS
We have a home gym in our basement with a Concept2 rower, elliptical, kettlebells, weights, etc. but on days I don't run outside or row I usually do workout DVDs- Jillian Michaels is great, and lately I am loving You Are Your Own Gym and there is no equipment at all required (all bodyweight exercises).

We have a treadmill, weight bench, some free weights, and I've got a selection of videos I've collected over time (JMs Yoga Meltdown, 30 DS and Kickbox Fast Fix, Andrea Roger's Xtend Barre, and Bethenny Frankel's Body By Bethenny are the ones I use most often). I've also printed out a bunch of different cardio interval workouts and keep them in my nightstand drawer if I want to do something different (and I'll stream Netflix to keep me interested while I do them).
We have a treadmill, so 1-2xs a week I will put in 3-5 miles. Also, I enjoy home workout videos, currently going through a round of TurboFire (well I am if I can stop getting colds at some point). I only do light handweights now and then (Jari Love, Karen Voight's old Great Weighted Workout), so I have 3, 5, and 8lbs; DH has a heavier adjustable set that he randomly decides to use. It all depends on what kind of workouts you enjoy.
ETA--if you have Amazon prime, they have a decent selection of Jillian Michaels and yoga videos
I've been doing Xbox fitness on XboxOne and I'm seriously obsessed. They have a bunch of workouts (including some insanity, Jilian Michaels, etc.), so it's easy to change it up (or just fit in a 10 minute one when I have a chance). Before it came out, I used the Nike+ Training app which I also really liked (which is totally free).
Both could be done without equipment, but I have a few things and now I don't even need/bother with a gym membership.
I have these adjustable dumbbells (http://www.amazon.com/PowerBlock-Elite-Dumbell-Black-50-Pound/dp/B00G7RHGNY), a kettle ball, weighted medicine ball, set of bands, and a yoga mat. One thing I've been thinking about getting is a pull-up bar.

We have a treadmill, elliptical, hand weight set, and yoga stuff. We also have some DVDs - 30 Day Shred, P90X, T25, Barre3, and random yoga videos. I use the treadmill if I can't run outside, and I use the DVDs for cross training. DH uses the elliptical.

It became more difficult to get out when DD1 was born 5 years ago, so we started building up a home gym. It now includes: treadmill, elliptical, spin bike, kettle bells/dumbbells, pull-up bar, yoga mat, exercise ball. DVD's include some Jillian Michaels (Ripped in 30, Yoga Meltdown), P90x, and old school "The Firm"

I have a treadmill and watch netflix on my phone while running. We also have an array of wii fit games and a few DVDs. I also am thinking of getting something for us to ride bikes in the basement to change it up.
We have all this except for the bike and the medicine balls. And we use the treadmill and adjustable weights the most too. We also have a bench and a few other dumb bells (8's, 10's, 15's, and 25's).
Ride my bike inside and then do various programs on the Sports & Fitness On Demand channel (I have Time Warner, not sure if other companies have this or not). But there are a ton of different types of workouts you can choose from - I like to do the Kickboxing, but there is ballet/barre, yoga, pilates, higher intensity, lower intensity, various ages, various targeted workouts, etc... Something for everyone.
I just started going to the gym in December, and started working out in general in October of last year. But at home I've done a Betty Rocker workout, and I use a stability ball for other things (pushups, crunches, planks). We also have a kettlebell, but I haven't used it yet. I want to get a jumprope and a medicine ball soon.
I have recently fallen in love with downloading workout videos using the Amazon Prime app. I find myself deferring to these workouts on days that are too hectic or the weather is too crappy to get to the gym or run outside.
