I don't post over here much but have a question you ladies can probably chime in on. I've been really enjoying hot yoga classes and go about twice a week and would like to go more often. However, we are TTC and I'm wondering if this is something I should stop doing immediately if we get a BFP, or if it is something I can continue with for a while? It's the heat that I'm mostly concerned with. I am pretty confident I can modify poses on my own or go to a lower level (unheated) class. I just don't know if that's something I should do immediately or is it more of a "see how you feel" type of situation? Does anyone have experience with this?

My dr gave the ok to continue with hot yoga when I got pregnant with my 2nd, but only because I had been doing it for a year prior 3-4x a week. The heat turned out to be too much for me so I stopped in the 2nd tri. See how you feel, its different for everyone.
I stopped as soon as I got pregnant because I didn't want to take any risks with the heat. I have missed it so much - and prenatal yoga just wasn't the same for me.
My doctor wasn't comfortable with me doing hot yoga. She was ok with other exercise and was pretty liberal otherwise. I have seen other women do it though so check with your doctor.
Hot yoga is one of the only things my midwives are not OK with, activity-wise. I stopped as soon as I got a positive. I miss it so much and can't wait to go back!
Word on the street is that if you have already been doing it for a while, you are fine. BUT, hot yoga is the ONLY exercise that I was told explicitly not to do by doctors. This included of my docs who was fine with me doing Crossfit.
Thanks for all the feedback! Sounds like I'll be giving hot yoga a break if we get a BFP. Which, to be honest, I have some mixed feelings about! Would be thrilled to get a BFP, but disappointed to stop hot yoga (and sushi, and wine, etc..) I'm glad my studio does have unheated classes as an option though.
