4:20 wake up call for my workout this morning. I'm laying in bed checking email & stuff, trying to convince myself to crawl out if my warm, soft, cozy bed.
I'm usually up to head to masters at 5. why does this seem so much worse!? I've only been up this early for race day or to catch a plane for vacation!
Ok I'm all pumped up from whining! I suppose ironman does in fact require a bit of sacrifice. And naps.
When I was training for IM #2, DH and I had a 4:30 wake up (which we do regularly). I was pretty beat from all the training and was having trouble getting my butt in gear. As he was admonishing me for still being in bed, I said to him "Give me one good reason why I should get out of bed right now." His reply: "Because you can."

I have a mental block about getting up before 5 am, too. I was woken up at 4:30 am this morning for a completely different reason (a 3 year old who thought it was time to get up). If it had been after 5, I probably would've just gotten up, but nope... we went back to bed!
Yeah it is! I calculated I would have to get up at 4:30 to get a run in on the TM before getting the kids ready for school. I just can't do it. I save my early morning work outs for the summer.
Yeah I got up at 4:40 for a skating lesson - it is way too early. I'm at an offsite meeting all day and the only thing that will help me make it through it is the endless coffee they provide!
Anything that starts w/a 4 is just a completely unreasonable time to be awake. It's like....reason 5,432 of why I could never do an Ironman. The dedication is amazing. Hope you had a great workout!

Yes he is! I often remind myself that I'm fortunate to be able to do the things I do, which makes the tough training days and early mornings a little easier, and makes race day that much more meaningful.

Well, I love you girls. You don't smack my ass around for complaining - you encourage and commiserate in a way that only my e-besties can do.
I had a great workout, and I just got home (7:20) and DD and DH are still sound asleep - that's how I like it.
My H is a great coach (it's his career), but clearly he does not coach endurance sports, because while trigal H is motivating her to get out of bed, my H said "are you for real?!" and then rolled over and fell back asleep. Ha. I suppose that's encouraging in it's own way

That is crappy early. I have to drag my butt out of bed at 4:40 every Thursday morning for a conference call and I can barely function. I don't think I could do a halfway decent workout at that hour. I think 5:45 is my earliest reasonable workout wake up.

Paisley gives you the side eye for waking up that early to workout. She says the only acceptable reason to wake up that early is to eat or poop, preferably both, in that order.

How's you foot doing? Any improvements?
I don't want to jack kams thread... my foot is somewhat better, but not good enough. I had a nerve conduction study done last week and we found out that instead only one nerve being broke, there are 2 that are broke. so..yay? That nerve conduction test is crazy town.. He said he will have more results for me next week, but that he originally thought it was my deep peroneal nerve only, but after the test he thinks its the deep & sensory nerve.. which will just take longer to heal (i guess). He didn't give me to much information because he needed to look at all the numbers from the test.
My gait is a lot better, and if I wear the brooks pure cadence shoes I have, it's almost back to normal. I still don't have full range of motion, and the side of my calf is still numb. He shocked one part of my foot during the study, and I couldn't feel it at all - that was...bizarre.
I am so so tempted to try running on the treadmill, but I'm scared. I can actually roll my foot from the heel to my toes, which I could not do before - i couldn't even lift my foot enough to place my heel on the ground.
this whole thing has been bizarro world. and why we are one & done. heh.

AJ's version of the creeper face was staring at my boobs as I was getting ready to BF...getting the MBF pillow ready, making sure my water/phone/remote were nearby, etc. It was a full on "Hey lady! I see what you've got over there and I WANT IT!" face. Babies are creepy!
