He was selected to be a passenger on the Old Ironsides turn-around crew in Boston Harbor yesterday (July 4).

That's so neat! I hope he enjoyed it. What do you have to do to get selected?

I'll have to ask him. I do believe he requested to attend, he was selected and they sent him a letter. My impression was that he was picked in a "lottery" this year. He also posted pics of the Fife and Drum Corps playing on deck and one of the Blue Angels flying overhead.

Did I mention I was jealous and wished I was there with him? Wonder if the future son-in-law gets attached to the Pentagon (it's one of his options on his next rotation) he can get to know an Admiral or three and push my/our name onto some super-secret-selective USS Constitution turnaround cruise list someday before I'm too old.
