how long was your recovery? I am trying to schedule one and trying to figure out the best time to do it. I don't have much vacation at work so I'd like to use as few vacation days as possible. If I had the surgery on a Thursday do you think I could be back at work on Monday or Tuesday? I work in an office at a desk with no heavy lifting or movement. Thanks.
Ummm...no. You need at least a week off of work. I didn't want to leave my couch/bed for about 4-5 days let alone go back to work. My surgeon told me to take two weeks off, and he was right. Have you talked to your surgeon? Can you schedule it right before a holiday weekend?
A BR is MAJOR surgery. You aren't having a toenail removed. You need to let your body rest and recover. You could also ask your employer to take sick time or unpaid time off.

I agree with saddlebred. I wasn't doing more than light walking until two weeks post surgery. I had drains even. It was life changing and totally worth it--but it is a major surgery and I was in a lot of pain despite being a healthy, active 19 year old.
