I'm not loving it. Part of it is watching two shows in one (it's about mentoring! and designers!) and part of it is watching designers I think are a step below what I'm used to on Project Runway.
Now, let's talk about what a hot mess Nick is. I felt a little bad for him when they were picking teams because he wasn't really selling himself as a mentor in the same way Mondo and Anya were. Well, now I know why! And the fact that he (not surprisingly) ended up with four of the worse designers is just adding to the craziness. When Tim Gunn is firmly, urgently, and still politely shoving you out the door you've got issues.
I haven't seen this week's episode yet, but I was really shocked by some of Nick's choices. Of the three mentors, he is probably my favorite from when he was on PR, but he did a horrible job of selling himself and picking his team. I see his designers being eliminated rather quickly.
I think the concept of the show is interesting, but I think some of the designers would never ever make it on PR.
Okay, I just watched the episode and I'm speechless. I think that the designers who picked Mondo or Anya over Nick were the smart ones. Too bad because I really liked Nick in his season.
I'm trying to love this show and failing. I love Tim Gunn. I fast forward through most of the show. It's really slow. There's too many TH moments. Nick is frustrating to watch.
I have to say, there were a couple of nice outfits that came out of that competition though!
I really liked Blake's dress and thought he should have won the challenge. I actually thought Nick's designer was going to get eliminated for that horrible pea green bridesmaid-looking dress.
