Good morning everyone! I'm slowly getting some work done at home (I work from home on Fridays) while baby girl takes a nap. Just planning a lazy day - out to the grocery store and the library and maybe meeting some friends for a coffee. How's everyone doing today?
QOTD: What's still on your bucket list of things to see? It sounds ridiculous, but I've checked everything off my original list which just goes to show how unimaginative I am! I need some new inspiration :-)

Good morning. It was a fairly quiet Friday. DH goes into work about noon on Friday so we slept late. I had a chat with my younger brother and mother, and then watched an episode of Jeopardy. After DH left for work, I got some housework done and then got dinner prepped (baked macaroni & cheese and sauteed summer squash using the homegrown zucchini my in-laws brought over on Monday). After I read most of the rest of Anne of Green Gables, I packed for the weekend in Melbourne and finished the day with some youTube viewing.
QOTD: Having seen the Winter Palace at St. Petersburg, and walked up & down the Jordan Staircase, this is my list of travel goals. Some of them can be checked off on the same trip: □ Visit Perth, Australia □ Visit Oslo, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark □ See the Midnight Sun with my husband □ Have a meal at Aux Anciens Canadiens in Quebec City, Canada □ Visit at least one UNESCO World Heritage List site in every country I visit □ See Trinity College Library and the statue of Molly Malone in Dublin, Ireland □ Visit the places mentioned in Paul Kelly's song "Every Fucking City"
Good afternoon! Late last night I got a terribly sore back and I had trouble getting out of bed and on my feet this morning. I must have lifted the heavy grocery bag onto my bike wrong yesterday or something. I managed to slowly clean my house a bit because my book club is meeting here tonight. I just had some lunch and in a few I am going to get 1 or 2 essentials for dinner and the meeting tonight. After that I have to work on a syllabus and on my article.
QOTD: wailing wall, fjords, Sicily, Lincoln memorial, Grand Canyon + Brice Canyon, Vancouver Chinatown, Barcelona, Scotland, Alhambra, Monte carlo, Swiss Alps, Cinque Terre.
Hello, DS and I have been fighting high fevers all week. I keep getting sick when he's sick...which I guess is good as it forces us to take it easy. I'm not tempted to drag him out on errands or anything. Still hope it goes away soon!
QOTD: Yosemite, Paris, Venice with my H this time, St. Petersburg, Alaska, drive to Namibia.
I am going to try to send DD to school today after she was home sick yesterday' and most of Wednesday. I have a ton of random odds and ends work to do and nearly raged at my mother the other night when she said "at least you're not working right now." (I was telling her about how I had to go get DD at school early when the nurse called me.) not having to go to an office every day does NOT mean I am "not working" right now. I'm coordinating a bunch of public events to promote a book I translated and helping the author with English-language interviews (which means translating emails between the author and the interviewers and responding to a bunch of requests). It was not a great week for DD to get sick.
QOTD: I haven't been many places outside of Western Europe and Latin America, so I have a long list of places I'd like to go/see.
- Sail up and down the Mekong river - go to The Banff area in Canada - visit Mozambique, Angola and South Africa - Cape Verde - Madagascar - Egypt -Jordan - India (but I know you've been, pittpurple)
Then there are th e places I want to go back to: - Turkey -Brazil - Cuba
Morning, or afternoon really. I'm currently laying on my bed with DD napping next to me. Don't want to move her and just want to cuddle her all day as today is the last day that the majority of her care falls on me alone. I'm all kinds of sad that she'll start daycare next week.
QOTD: I never really had a bucket list. Currently I'd really like to visit Rome and the Vatican while DD is still breastfeeding (the Pope recently encouraged moms to BF their kids in the Sistine Chapel, that would be amazing.) I'd love to do Venice and Verona too and re-visit DH's grandma's ancestral village again with DD. Besides that mostly citoes. Haven't been to so many fun sounding cities which would be cool for a (long) weekend. Berlin, Barcelona, Prague and Voenna come to mind. Oh, and I really really want to do New England when there's nice foliage. That really is a bucket list item.
QOTD: The list would be too long! But, places/things I want to visit include: Jordan See the Northern Lights Yellowstone Las Vegas Grand Canyon Washington DC New Orleans San Francisco French Polynesia and/or Maldives A cabin in Canada Cambodia Vietnam A safari in Africa
Storm surge warning here so we're getting cozy with some Magic School bus and blasting the heat.
QOTD:
- Australia and NZ: waiting until kids are a lot older and we can take 4-6 weeks to do it. - really want to do the the Camino de Santiago (pilgrimage from France to Spain) with DH on foot someday. Maybe in like 18 years when the kids are in uni. Better stay in shape! - a few more European cities. Stockholm, Vienna, Prague.

DH did the camino! We have the big certificate framed in our dining room. I would love to do it as family one day.
