Just a local 5k as part of my running club's winter series. We're having a mini heat wave (50 degrees, what what?!) and it's the first one that I haven't felt like crap for, so hopefully it'll be a good race

Two minute PR for my 10k. As usual, happy-go-lucky @venus2007 was an awesome running partner. I had to slow down a bit after the halfway point but still managed the PR. Totally credit Venus.

Congrats! 2 min off of a 10k is a nice PR! How fun that you guys get to meet up & race together.

I hope everyone else had good races. I had another PR 34:08, I didn't really push it until the last bit of the race when I saw the clock and it said 33:50 so I gunned it. I pulled a 8 min mile the last .1 miles of the race. Everyone was cheering me on which was awesome because I just kicked it in to high gear. And the best part is I ran the whole damn race minus the 20 seconds to get water and chug it because well I'm just not that coordinated. So I hit my biggest goal of the year that I had set out which was 11 min miles… might need to change that to 10 min miles.
I went into my race undecided if i wanted to treat like a training run and to take it easy, or to push it and see if my goal pace for my upcoming half is realistic. I opted for the later and ended up right around where I hope to be in April (about 7 seconds/ mile) on a course covered with snow, and ice in some places. Despite the conditions, I'm very happy with my time.

I PR'd my 5k! It was raining and I think that motivated me to keep up my pace. I just wanted to be dry. It was a super small race (~400 people) which was a nice change from the last few races I've done.
For the 10K my A goal was 62 minutes but I would have been pleased with anything sub 1:10. And I ended up at 60:5X! I used to think a sub hour 10k was unattainable but now I know I can do it.
I didn't have a goal for the 5K and decided to do the challenge just on a whim. But I had my second sub30 minute time (29:5X) so overall it was a great day.

I'm (still) not running, but I'll brag a bit on my DH. He trained for and ran the RnR half in New Orleans yesterday all while I was out of commission, which was a big test of motivation for him. And even though he had IT band issues during the race, and it was crowded and it rained part of the time, he still hit his goal time. I am super proud of him.
