15 miles today with the kid on his bike

Moms, SS is 9. I think there is no other way to do this, unless dh and I take turns running and I don't wan to do that either. SS is not looking forward to this. I know he can do it and we are going to stop midway so he can have a snack at a coffee shop to make it more fun, but geez, poor guy!

I also told him when his friends are talking about playing video games all weekend he can say that he rode his bike 15 miles!

That's awesome! I was around that age when my parents would drag me out for 20+ miles rides. He'll be OK, plus you guys are on foot, so he won't have to hold a really fast pace. Like you said, you might have to stop here & there, but what a great family day. Have fun!!

Do you not leave him at home alone ever? I only ask because we've been leaving DD2 (also 9) home alone this year, and she does great.

We haven't gone yet. No we don't leave him alone yet, he's with us only on weekends so it's a tough call.
