Viewers are in for an extended stay at Southfork Ranch. TNT has ordered a second season of "Dallas."
"'Dallas' has been a success for us on every level: pitch-perfect writing, smart directing and buzz-worthy performances by a new generation of stars and their iconic counterparts," Michael Wright, president and head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), said in a statement. "With 'Dallas's' top-flight ratings, robust growth through time-shifted viewing and the extensive online buzz, it's clear the Ewings of Southfork have once again captured the imagination of viewers."
A 15-episode Season 2 is slated to premiere in 2013.
TNT's "Dallas" stars original "Dallas" cast members Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing), Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing) and newcomers Josh Henderson as John Ross, the son of J.R. and Sue Ellen, Jesse Metcalfe as Christopher, Bobby's adopted son, Jordana Brewster as John Ross' girlfriend, Julie Gonzalo as Rebecca, Christopher's wife and Brenda Strong as Bobby's wife, Ann.
According to TNT, "Dallas" has been averaging 6.9 million viewers during its first season.

I like it a lot. We watched all the previous seasons. They do a nice job incorporating the younger people while focusing on the legends. I'm thrilled that it's doing so well---#1 new show on cable and average around 6 million viewers.

I like it too, I'm so glad I set the DVR to record the series. I had to play catch up last week and watch the first few episodes, and I'm definitely hooked. I never even watched the original, but it doesn't seem to matter much.
