One of my CWs brought her slow cooker in to cook dinner with as she's afraid to leave it at home alone.
My brother is afraid to leave his slow cooker running. At first it was concern for fire, but I pointed out he walks out leaving his clothes dryer running which is a MUCH bigger fire hazard. So he quit doing that and braved the slow cooker.
But then I told him about the time I overflowed crock pot with chili and the mess that ensued so now he's worried about that happening (he's a little OCD/mess-averse).
You can do allergy drops for multiple allergens?! I thought they were mostly for people with 1-2 allergies. I'm like your husband--of the 72 things they tested for, I think I reacted to at least 50.
Do the math on his time. I had to go twice a week for 14 weeks to start--that's 28 hours minimum for the first three months. I would have totally paid $300 to have that time back.
I hope the drops work for him as well as the shots have for me!
Yes, DH has them for dog, cat, all sorts of plant matter (weeds, trees, grass), mold. His food allergies (shellfish & some mollusks) are excluded.
Ha, my H's allergies are almost exactly the same, right down to shellfish and mollusks!

I wish she was cooking for us...it smells great!
I had an overflow when I tried to use one of those liners...it didn't work well with my oval shaped slow cooker. Ooops.
Race photos from the Peachtree Road Race were posted today. This is the best race photo I've ever had! Looking at it again, I'm a little embarrassed that I think this is a good race photo.
I have this weird desire to always prove my H wrong. Today I told him that I would like to get some cleaning done after getting off work at 12:30. He told me that I would probably sleep since I had to work at 4AM and only got 4 hours of sleep. So I decided that I had to stay up, just to prove him wrong even though I would really like a nap. I've folded some laundry but havn't done much else.
I don't know why I do this, but I've done it at least 4 other times in the last month.
My friend wants to go house hunting and wants me to go with her as her trusted friend/construction-knowledgeable person. The catch is, she's not actually interested in buying any time soon, she just has a few houses she's interested in seeing. I think it's kind of shitty to waste a realtor's time to show her these places when she knows she won't be buying for at least 7 years - look at photos online, wait for an open house.
I can't decide if I should take a stand on the moral high ground, or go anyway so I can sate my own curiosity.
I would tell her that you're happy to go to an open house with her.
This is a good compromise. 7 years out is a lot of time. And wasting realtor's time (as well as lenders, if she needs to get pre-approved) is just not cool.
I finally decided we really need a day of wedding coordinator. Unfortunately since I was stubborn and didn't think we'd need one all along I didn't budget for it and it turns out even a day of coordinator isn't MM friendly.
Do you have a college in your town where you could hire a student in event planning? Or do you have a young neighbour or coworker that might be interested?
I bought a kind-of-clingy work dress. it isn't too tight or anything, but it shows a lot because the fabric is thin and drapey. anyways, I decided to get some grandma control top underwear to wear with said clingy dress.
I came home from shopping today and showed SO my loot, careful to leave the granny panties hidden in the bag. as soon as I turn my back to put away my new clothes, he rifles through the bag, pulls out the underwear, and asks me wtf I bought. sometimes we need a little mystery. LEAVE MY SECRETS HIDDEN!

I think this is a good race photo! I have yet to have a good race photo.
The end of my finger is numb. Not completely feeling-less, but numb like it isn't getting good circulation or is "asleep". This morning I pulled a garbage bag a few feet and the stings on the bag dug into my finger weird (it was very heavy) and it hurt really bad and was instantly numb/tingly. The pain went away quickly but the numb feeling hasn't. I wonder if I should be worried? I can move it fine and it doesn't hurt/swell/bruise at all. It is just weird.
H went out for drinks with some coworkers. He said he'd be home at 7 to make dinner. (We have tuna to grill, and I don't know how to light the grill....bad feminist!) It's after 8 and he's still not home. On the one hand, I don't care that much because I like having the house to myself sometimes. On the other hand, I AM HUNGRY!!! Rawr.

Potheads seem to follow me around.
I was forced to room with a chronic this past weekend.
Today, the office utility guys were working right outside my office door. I smelled weed the entire day. I may have gotten second-hand high or something.

I don't know how to light the grill either. Or mow the lawn or use the snow blower. There are certain things I purposely refuse to learn because I don't want to get stuck doing them. I do the vast majority of the cooking though so I think it is nice to have an excuse for DH to be the one making dinner (FTR I do shovel snow and take care of the majority of the gardening/landscaping!)
