I had a friend who passed away several years ago. Last night I had a dream about him - nothing crazy, but we were hanging out and laughing and talking and having fun. I woke up really missing him & I've been thinking about him all morning.
I had a dream that I was hanging out with this guy I went to high school with. I hated him in high school...he teased me and was really mean. But in the dream I had a thing for him and he was really hot. I have NO IDEA why I was thinking about this guy!
H had an allergy test the other day, and he is allergic to almost every environmental allergen they tested him against. He decided against the allergy shots that were 100% covered by insurance, because he'd have to drive across town to a different hospital once a week to get the shots and then be observed for 30 min. to make sure he didn't have an adverse reaction. So now we're paying $110/month for the allergy drops that are not covered by insurance. :-(

The sucks about the allergies. I tested postive last year too. That's annoying it's so far. I don't think I'd be getting shots if I couldn't have them done in my building (my office is just below student health).
I really should have paid for a bus pass this weekend instead of biking in. My ride is about 25 minutes. The morning's never too bad but the heat index is supposed to be 108 when I have to ride home!
Brie, I would maybe escalate it, but with a "I'm happy to handle this myself, but just wanted to make you aware"?
That was my thought. Although when I've done it this way in the past, my boss often told me to drop it and not respond to the crazy at all, just let them pitter out. But you work in a different area than I did at the time (I don't get so many crazies in my current position - yay!)

I'm home sick. The only other day I've called in sick in the last 5 years was the day I went into labor with DS. I'm too sick to drive, but hate that my coworkers are covering my Friday night call.
I may make DH drive me over to work though so a colleague can give me some IV fluid, I'm already fairly dehydrated
I leave for vacation in less than 24hrs. I still need to do some cleaning at home. I really don't want too, so I am hoping 1 of 2 things happens: 1) DH cleans when he gets off work 2) my MIL cleans while she watches my cats.
I am also not very productive today, but I have stuff to get done so that I can be off for a week.

DH does allergy drops instead of the shots and they are working way faster than the allergy shots he had as a kid, plus (for us) they are cheaper - $40/mo vs. $25 1-2x/week.
My friend wants to go house hunting and wants me to go with her as her trusted friend/construction-knowledgeable person. The catch is, she's not actually interested in buying any time soon, she just has a few houses she's interested in seeing. I think it's kind of shitty to waste a realtor's time to show her these places when she knows she won't be buying for at least 7 years - look at photos online, wait for an open house.
I can't decide if I should take a stand on the moral high ground, or go anyway so I can sate my own curiosity.

I would tell her that you're happy to go to an open house with her.
I finally decided we really need a day of wedding coordinator. Unfortunately since I was stubborn and didn't think we'd need one all along I didn't budget for it and it turns out even a day of coordinator isn't MM friendly.

7 YEARS!? Why is she even looking at houses online? The market is going to change so drastically in 7 years. I won't even look at houses online and we're planning on buying in less than a year.

You can do allergy drops for multiple allergens?! I thought they were mostly for people with 1-2 allergies. I'm like your husband--of the 72 things they tested for, I think I reacted to at least 50.
Do the math on his time. I had to go twice a week for 14 weeks to start--that's 28 hours minimum for the first three months. I would have totally paid $300 to have that time back.
I hope the drops work for him as well as the shots have for me!

Thanks! I really don't know a lot about the details. He said they pick the top few allergens and treat those with the drops. He said the drops should work as well as the shots.
He asked me what I thought about the cost of the drops, and I told him that was a lot of time, at least six hours a month, and I wasn't averse to paying for the drops. Also, once he starts clinical rotations next year, it would be damn near impossible for him to get to this hospital on a regular basis unless his rotation was there. So I'm not mad at him for spending the money, just displeased with the options.
I sent SIL an email that I thought was restrained, but I'm sure it's going to piss people off.
And I don't care, I sent it to H first and he said send it.
is she defending her mom's actions??
No. It turns out that she agreed with me that her mom acted rashly and impulsively.
Apparently MIL called when they opened yesterday (the same time I did) to try and get the cats back. And has been crying and upset that it was too late.
We're still upset. Knowing that she's upset doesn't make it okay. She should be upset.

Yes, DH has them for dog, cat, all sorts of plant matter (weeds, trees, grass), mold. His food allergies (shellfish & some mollusks) are excluded.
