I try really, really hard not to say anything to coworkers who constantly talk about diets (one specifically). Especially really expensive ones. Instead of venting to them, I'm venting to you.
Right now, a CW is outside my office talking all about her current diet to another CW. She is doing slimgenics. On the surface it sounds good, because they put everything into categories (fruit, starch, protein, etc) and each meal is based on a set number of these categories.
But then there are all these weird rules. Like you can't eat beef on back to back days. And you can only eat cottage cheese 2x/week. OH, and carrots are off limits.
Also, if you fall off and have something that's not on the plan... you have to omit a fruit and a starch for three days and drink lots of extra water. The problem here is that it doesn't matter what you did to cheat, or how many times you cheated in one day, it's the same consequence. So in the mind of the person losing weight: 1 tbsp peanut butter = 3 slices of chocolate cake and a whole pizza.
To top it off... it's like $100/month just for them to tell you what to eat, plus you have to buy their snacks and pills and crap (probably another $50/mo)
I won't say anything to her... but it's so frustrating to listen to her constantly complain about her "cheating" but still trying to sell this diet to anyone who will listen.

Hearing about fad diets/quick weight fixes from others (co-workers, people on FB, whoeever) drives me crazy too. I know that it's not my place and what has worked for me, won't work for everyone...BUT, some of these things are just SO STUPID and I want to shake people and ask WTF they are thinking!
