I'd wait for it on DVD....but the humor was a little crude for my tastes. My DH and in-laws were all rolling on the floor laughing, whereas I didn't find it nearly as "funny" as I thought it was kind of sick/gross (and at times, a little eye rolling at its predictability). I didn't hate it, but whereas DH would say he loved it, I just though it was OK. Everyone's humor is different.
Physically seeing it on the big screen doesn't enhance the movie though--it'd be fine to watch it at home.

If you like Family Guy, you'd like this movie. It was like a really long episode, but the humor was cruder. The people I saw it with loved it, but I would've rather waited for it to come out on DVD.

Agree with this, if you like FG, you'll love Ted. Personally I really liked it and laughed a lot. I wouldn't consider it a "theater must see" - if DH and his friends hadn't been going and invited me along, I probably would not have made the effort to see it in theaters otherwise. I prefer watching DVD's from the comfort of my home
