Does anyone have some clue or is able to ask around what it pays approximately to teach a class at a German university as an adjunct or a single class lecturer/instructor? TIA!!!
Yes, at Frankfurt Goethe Uni. I'm working there until the end of the month. I'm not sure what contract workers get. In my department they have to have at least 7 classes (each class is 1 1/2 hours) for a 100% contract and they have other admin work to do.
I've noticed in Germany they say it's XX amount per hour, but it's really for 45 mins. the other 15 mins is pay for prep, etc.

No the head of the department is recovering from an accident and we decided to talk about it later. I'll let all of you know once everything is hammered out.

Hope it works out for you. I just found out last week that I am a victim of our institute's exploitation of doctoral students and am not supposed to get a single cent for the seminar I'll be teaching this summer. My advisor is trying to get me money since he knows we need it, but I'm not holding out hope. I hope you have better luck.

When I sent in the info for the course I asked one of the guys responsible whether I should say I was a doctoral student or not since I'm borderline right now (defense is March 7, then I "only" have to publish). He said yes for some bureaucratic reason. And then I found out a week or two ago that doctoral students are not paid for seminars they teach because the department can't afford it and they assume that doctoral students want the teaching experience (my advisor opening called it exploitation).
