If you have an Amazon registry, does it show up in search results if you google your name?
Also, if you have an online registry (like Amazon) and at a brick-and-mortar store, how did you choose where to put items that both places carry? Assuming little to no price difference.
We registered at Buy Buy Baby and Amazon. When it was close, I just alternated it or, if it was a big item, I did it through Amazon because of free shipping and so people could have it show up at their door.
With my first, I didn't have an online only registry, but I had one at both BRU and target. I registered for duplicates at both stores (in our city, BRU is not terribly convenient, but has more selection), but since I was a dirty registry stalker, I was able to quickly update both to eliminate duplicate gifts.
I had a ton of items on Amazon until I found out most of my friends still preferred going into the store to buy registry items. So if BRU had it, I put it in that one. I only had about 10 items on my Amazon list and about 5 were purchased.
Hmm, ok. I'm really not sure...I think registries will be used more by family/family friends than our local friends, who seem to go for cute clothes and things like that, so it sounds like brick and mortar has had more success overall. Thanks!
There is an option to hide your Amazon registry in Bump searches, but we kept it active.
Do you do this on Amazon when setting it up?
Yep here are all of the settings when you set them up:
Privacy Setting Public - Anyone can search for and view this registry. Private - Only myself and my Co-Registrant can view this registry. Shared - Registry can only be viewed by those that have a link and it will not appear in Amazon search results.
Amazon Partners Yes, please include my registry in search results on TheBump.com. (More information.) Please note, registry must be public to be included in search results.
I will only have an Amazon registry with a few items on it this time. I do know that if a guest decides to buy something at a brick and mortar store that they can identify that on your registry. Amazon will then make that item as 'purchased' on your registry so you (and others) know it's been purchased.
