Vents: Weather. 3 storms this week? Come on. My knee is still being cranky too. Highlights or Aw's: I got my new Garmin! I went with the 310 b/c it is cheaper, does more, and has a longer battery life. I'm excited to use the heart rate monitor.
Schedule for the week? Sun and Mon travel, Tues 45 minute tempo, Wed sprints, Thurs crossfit, Fri 8 miles, Sat rest.
Any vents/issues/injuries? Got sick doing crossfit last week. Had to take a dramemine and sleep it off. And then I traveled for 2 days, so I feel really behind!
What are you training for? Date? Run the Bluegrass Half 3/29 Schedule for the week? M - Swim, T - 3mi + strength, W - either yoga or some workout on my TV, running is most likely not going to happen due to snowstorm, R - 4 mi pace, F - 3 mi, S - rest S - 9 mi Any vents/issues/injuries? I've added some steeper hills to my runs to get ready for my race. My calves and quads aren't liking me at the moment. Other than that, feeling good. Highlights from last week? I actually enjoyed my long run on Sunday. I don't know if it was the euphoria of finally being outside, or the change in my route to get more hills in, but it actually felt fun.
What are you training for? Date? Local 5K 2/22/14, DC RNR Half 3/15/14, CB 10miler 4/6/14
Schedule for the week? Mon - 8 x 400 8:00 pace Tues - Rest Wed - 4.5mi Thur- 3mi + Strengthen Fri - Rest Sat - 11mi Sun - 3mi
Any vents/issues/injuries? Just looking forward to the warmer weather on the horizon
Highlights from last week? It's really just great to be back to my regular training schedule with races on my calendar. I'm starting to see my old pace come back and I only have about 5 lbs of baby weight left to lose!
What are you training for? Date? B&A Trail Half Marathon
Schedule for the week? M: 2 miles T: rest W: 5 miles T: rest or maybe a short run at work, depending on the weather F: rest S: 10 miles
Any vents/issues/injuries? None. Except that next week might be a challenge to maintain my schedule, since we will be on vacation in Costa Rica! (Which, I agree, isn't the worst issue to have...)
Highlights from last week? Lots! My 5K PR. A few bearable treadmill runs last week. AND, I found a new workout top that combines everything I want to address my weird workout gear quirks (v neck, hood, and button up sleeves).
Oh, and I signed up for a training group that begins in April. SO excited for this!
What are you training for? Date? Albany Half Marathon 3/1/14 and Gate River Run 15k 3/15/14
Schedule for the week? Not a great week for schedules. Between work & home, things are nuts. So far, it's looking like this: M: Moving 4 bedrooms of furniture back into house (just had floors done), T: Rest-work event, W: 90 min massage, Th: 7 miles, F: 5 miles, S: Some check-point challenge adventure race downtown. No clue. Never done it before, S: 15-16 miles
Any vents/issues/injuries? Nope. I'm good. Things are a little tight from the marathon, but overall, I feel OK.
My plan for Albany was to either a) pace a friend for the full (break 4:00), or b) race the half, and then jump in to pace her at mile 20. I chose b, but it's occurred to me that this will likely be just as difficult, if not more difficult than option a. I'm basically going to have a 19 mile run w/13 @ HMP. :?
Highlights from last week? Not having a schedule & doing whatever I want. Both weekend runs felt pretty good.
What are you training for? Date? RnR HM 3.15.14, CB 10 4.6.14
Schedule for the week? M: rest, T: 30 min easy+ core, W: track workout, R: 45 min + ST, F: rest, S: 11 mi, S: 45 min+ST
Any vents/issues/injuries? had to cut a run short and include lots of walking on Sunday due to knee pain. going to test it out tonight to see if it was just a fluke or if this is an ongoing issue.
Highlights from last week? I went to the gym on Tuesday and worked out even though I got out of work late and super didn't want to. I had to cut the work out a little short but I at least I did something.
Schedule: M: masters + 90 min bike T: it snowed!! We don't get much snow! So I'm moving my long run to Friday and am going snowshoeing & taking dd sledding instead. W: masters (+ extra 15 mins of swimming) + hot yoga R: 60 min ride + 15 min run brick F: masters + 100 min run S: 3.5 hr ride + 30 min run brick S: hot yoga / rest
Injuries/vents: Everything is good still!
Highlights: This is near the same volume where I peaked for my HIM in Aug, and I remember feeling whooped! It's fun to feel so good and see that my fitness has changed even since then.
I have a HM this Saturday, so I'm just doing light running this week. 2 miles this morning then swimming this afternoon. Unfortunately, the forecast is calling for a high of 5F on Saturday, so it's going to be a cold race. Hopefully there's no wind.

What are you training for? Date? Austin marathon 2/16
Schedule for the week? M-4 T-R W-5 R-R F-4 Sa-8 Su-R
Any vents/issues/injuries? Tired legs, achy ankle, and moody funk that I can't seem to shake. Also lots of self-doubt for my race...looking at last year's splits and thinking how/why did that happen?? Is it going to happen again? Did I do enough to have a strong race? etc etc. This is the part of the taper that I don't like at all!!
Highlights from last week? My last double digit training run, yippee!
What are you training for? Date? Andrew Jackson Half 3/21, GW 10 miler 4/13, Nike Women's Half 4/27
Schedule for the week? M - 3 miles T - strength W - 7 miles Th - Cross F - rest Sat - 12 miles Sun - 4 miles, pacing friend in 5K
Any vents/issues/injuries? More cold and freezing rain tonight, so I may run 7 today and do strength training tomorrow. I also ate too much at our super bowl party and can still feel it.
What are you training for? Date? My next big event is Indianapolis Women's Half Marathon on 6/7. I may do a 5k before that though. We live in rural Ohio and there aren't a ton of race options within a short driving distance.
Schedule for the week?
M - yoga and 3 miles on treadmill (this is usually my speedwork day, but just wasn't feeling it yesterday) T - spin and weights W - yoga, 30 minute swim, 4 miles of speedwork on treadmill (this is HARD for me after swimming) Th - spin and weights F - maybe swim or maybe rest - Fridays are tough for me S - 8 mile long run Sun - 2-3 recovery miles and usually a workout DVD
Any vents/issues/injuries?
I need to do more foam rolling and concentrate on doing things to pro-actively prevent injuries. I desperately want to break 2 hours in this half marathon.
Highlights from last week?
Ugh, none! I had been gone 2 weeks prior to last week for work and every night last week we had something to go to and I hardly did any training. I'm desperate to get back on schedule!

Can't wait to hear how you like the 310! I recently got my first Garmin (220) and have been loving it!
What are you training for? Date? B&A Trail Half Marathon
Schedule for the week? M: 2 miles T: rest W: 5 miles T: rest or maybe a short run at work, depending on the weather F: rest S: 10 miles

Oh, and I signed up for a training group that begins in April. SO excited for this!
Oooohhh....Costa Rica! Have fun! I'm sure you'll get plenty of workouts in with all the hiking and outdoor activities there. Congrats on the 5K PR too!
Can you post details about the new workout top? I desperately need some new gear. I stocked up about 2 years ago on tops and capris and everything is quickly wearing out.
What are you training for? Date? Taking a break for a couple weeks after the half but then will be training for the Springtime Tallahassee 10K on 3/29. I have also been talking with DH and we might be using our tax return to travel to the RnR half marathon in Savannah, GA on 11/8.. so excited!
Schedule for the week? Resting and getting over my soreness. I might do a short 2 miler thursday and I am doing a local 5K on Saturday. It is actually the first 5K I ever did last year so I am going back and am hoping to get a new PR.
Any vents/issues/injuries? I can still barely walk and am wobbling like a duck.. other than that all is good.
Highlights from last week? Ran my first half marathon
This week: 3.75 mi on Monday, spinning on Tuesday, body pump on Wednesday, 3 mi on Thursday, Pilates on Friday, 1.5 miles and weight circuit on Saturday, and a 5K + 1.5 miles on Sunday.
What are you training for? Date? ~Chattahoochee Challenge Half Ironman, 4/26
Schedule for the week? ~Mon: Off ~Tues: Easy 5k run ~Wed: Masters ~Thurs: Hill workout (bike) ~Fri: Masters/run ~Sat: 35 mile ride ~Sun: 60 minute run
Any vents/issues/injuries? ~I am having so much trouble with my feet, it's really holding back my running. I think I gained too much weight while recouping from knee surgery, and the extra weight isn't helping. I'm also having trouble getting motivated to actually train 90% of the time.
Highlights from last week? ~ I did much better fueling my long bike ride, and held strong for 30 miles.
I'm not following a schedule. Just want to get in a long run and a speed workout. This weather keeps screwing me up which makes me angry. If I have no plan I can't get angry, right?

Where in Costa Rica? We were there a few years ago. It's amazing! And hilly so good training I'm running B&A too. Hoping this weather gets better so I can get in some decent outdoor runs.

What are you training for? Date? 24-Hour Relay Swim - 02/08-09
Schedule for the week? Swim Wednesday.
Any vents/issues/injuries? I've been having some shoulder popping lately - I think it's a weakness thing, so after this relay, I've got to get back into the weight room.

What are you training for? Date? Boston Marathon 4/21
Schedule for the week?
No clue. I just returned form maternity leave today, so I'm still feeling out how this is all going work. I hope to squeeze in at least 20 miles (total) this week.
Any vents/issues/injuries?
DH's grandmother passed away on Thursday (sad, but not totally unexpected). After barely making it home Tuesday becuase of the snow storm, we had to fly out again for funeral services over the weekend.
Umm, get healthy? I've developed a nasty cold and am still early in training, so I'm going to try to get well. Maybe plan to get in 20 miles including some approximation of a long run.
Any vents/issues/injuries? See above. I hate being sick. I'm such a baby.
Highlights from last week? Ran 5 days in a row & felt good.

We survived it?
Hope everything goes ok; I'm sure it will be a juggling act to readjust to the new schedule. Sorry about your H's grandmother.
