Breaking Bad

My husband and I just finished watching the whole series and it was hands down the best tv I have ever seen. Now a huge hole is left where Walt and Jesse used to be

Does anyone have a series they can recomend to fill the void? It's going to be huge shoes to fill but we need something to watch now that our obsession is over.

"Justified" is excellent, and kind of similar in tone.  It's on Amazon Prime I think.
"The Hour" is fantastic, but I think it's only on DVD (e.g., not streaming).  Only two (British) seasons, with like six episodes each.
BBC Sherlock if you haven't seen it...for older series Sports Night is awesome (and you don't have to like sports).  For ones I don't watch but I've heard are great:  Deadwood, Homeland, True Detective. 

For absolutely fun stuff, Archer.

Homeland or Sons of Anarchy. We just started watching SoA over the holidays and already finished all six seasons...it's so good! Season 7 which will be the last returns in the fall.

I love Justified, Dexter and Walking Dead are good.

X-Files is one of the strongest series I have ever seen.

The old Twilight Zone is exceptional, but there is obviously no character arc.

West Wing is excellent as well.

I just started season 3 of Justified and I'm loving it! I've been binge watching all week.

I watched SOA before that and it's really good.

Game of Thrones is the greatest show ever, but I know fantasy type stuff isn't for everyone.

I loved Breaking Bad, but I think the Wire is the best show ever made.

The Wire is fantastic, a very close second to Breaking Bad as best show ever, IMO. I'll also echo the Archer recommendation, it is so hilarious.

I loved orange is the new black but my husband couldn't get passed the first 30 minutes so probably not a good one for y'all to watch together.
I've been told to watch House of Cards so I'll start that soon. But I still need to finish breaking bad. I'm in the middle of the final season. I don't want it to end!

Another vote for Homeland and Sons of Anarchy.

Also- American Horror story was great the first season but then took a dive.

Also- if you're into creepier shows I'd suggest The Following.

Going back a decade, I feel the need to throw in a vote for Dead Like Me. It's a dramedy, and it's phenomenal. It was on Showtime I think.

I can see how it's not for everyone, but it's in my top 3 favorite shows of all time.

OK. I had heard from multiple people who also loved BB that I should watch The Wire because it's equally as fantastic. So we bought season 1 and have watched about the first five episodes a month ago but we stopped. I could not get into it AT ALL.

I am more than happy to give it a second chance, but I'm curious--did you all love it from the beginning, and therefore maybe it's just not a show I'm interested in, or did it take you awhile to warm up to it and it gets really good later on?

I watched the first two episodes and couldn't get into either. I really wanted to like it because so many people said it was good, but it didn't hold my interest.

I think the first season takes some time to get into and is not indicative of the rest of the show. It really picks up in season 2 and just gets better from there.
